Pros +
- The superior room was excellent, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Staying only for one night, we had an excellent meal in the restaurant, the food was first rate. A lovely comfortable relaxed feel to the evening.Breakfast the following morning was excellent, showcasing the fabulous local produce sourced by The Maynard. Excellent value particularly taking advantage of the 'My Longbow' app.
- Great location. Lovely inside.
- The staff was extremely friendly, the property was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and the food was wonderful.
Cons -
- The weather was a little foggy in the morning but the Maynard can't be held responsible for that ;)
- I think £35 per night for a dog to stay is very steep. The most we have ever paid anywhere (by at least £10.).The breakfasts we chose were lovely, but should include cereals and toast also- like most hotels do.
- It is sat right on the road. While it is a quiet road it isn't out in a field or something. For this, our room was right above a road so it didn't feel very private.

We really liked the staff. They were kind and helpful and great energy. The breakfast was really good in the morning. My friend could have his first English Breakfast! Our room was very spacious and the soaps provided were great.

The location is incredible, the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff were so hospitable
The facilities and atmosphere were all fantastic, with the decor and presentation giving a cozy and comforting feeling. The food was excellent and well priced with a great selection of drinks to accompany.
Terrific location.
The room was so hot, even at night, even with both fans blowing full blast. I had trouble sleeping both nights because of the heat. Some of the staff was very nice, but some were a little prickly and dismissive. For breakfast, I sat at a table for 15 minutes while multiple staff walked by me several times, noticing me, but without speaking or offering to take my order. Multiple other guests who arrived after me were seated & served immediately. I eventually had to flag down someone to request a coffee, and was told to wait a minute, because she was serving another table. It was just a strange start to the morning.
Lovely boutique style rooms very clean and comfy. Friendly and helpful staff and a great breakfast. Great location for visit to Chatsworth House and lovely local walking routes from the hotel.
Location is amazing. View was great. Very good value.Room was good and they accommodated our baby cot request.
Breakfast was good on the first day. The next day they didn’t have the options we picked from the already limited selection and the omelette we finally ordered was just egg and cheese (also some eggshells) even though it was supposed to have more ingredients like mushrooms etc. Also ended up with an upset stomach. One or two staff at the front desk were nice but most of them were cold and unwelcoming. The two rooms we booked were far apart.
Nice rooms, good location, good food
Some of the staff were rather unfriendly
Incredible breakfast and the facilities in the hotel
In one of two rooms we could not regulate the heating system and at night become really warm.
Great little place nestled in Hope valley Staff were all great really friendly Good quality food and range of beverages Beautiful beer garden to enjoy as wellOur room was fabulous really nicely decorated and spotless
Lovely staff and scenery. We got free room upgrade due to it being my partners birthday which was such a nice touch. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. Pricing was fairly highly but you get what you pay for. Food was outstanding and service matched also. We will definitely stay here againThanks again :)
Very nice hotel, in a good location, with lovely staff. Food and drink were excellent.
Lovely staff, some original thought in the menus and spotlessly clean. A great base for walking too.
Only missed a straight 10 by having pretty poor pillows on the bed!
The rooms were very clean and modern. Had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were all very friendly
Nothing :)
We had an absolutely EXCELLENT stay at the Maynard, the hotel was.lovely and all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming !! Rachel in the restaurant was so friendly, in fact, every single staff member was absolutely lovely, but we didn't get any of the other names, in order to mention them individually.!!The location was fantastic, breakfast and lunch was fantastic also! We will definitely be returning!;Also, the rooms were fantastic!
The area is made for hikers but as non-hikers we thoroughly enjoyed 24 in a beautiful hotel, great staff and service and so much fresh air and greenery we thought London was a billion miles away.
Fantastic, beautiful location, impressive property, polite and helpful staff. Great walks from hotel. Food was delicious and served quickly and efficiently.
Great hotel excellent location let down badly by a lack of staff which meant very long waiting time for food ecpecially at breakfast Very little interaction between staff at breakfast and guests due to lack of time The staff were having to serve guests in the restaurant as well as giving room service….. two members off staff were clearly not enough to cope with the workload
