Pros +
- Beautiful room and facilities, staff very helpful
- Staff where excellent , helpful , reception , bar and in the restaurant . Full of character, floors are very creaky but to be expected for the age of the building . Location is great if you don't fancy eating on site there's lots of options along the high street. Stayed with work would definitely stay again and soon hopefully
- The hotel is ideally situated on the main thoroughfare in Tewkesbury which is a vibrant and friendly town full of great pubs and some nice restaurants. Behind the hotel is the River Avon with decent walks. The deluxe room was generally pretty good; the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well-appointed with good towels and nice toiletries.
Cons -
- Room above kitchen is ok if you are a heavy sleeper. If not , it’s not great at 6am. Broken secondary double glaze window in room was a little disconcerting and needs replacing.
- Car park is down a very narrow street next to the hotel , with limited spaces . Not a negative just be aware , more than adequate on street parking near by . if you're staying with work and a single occupancy , i had limited desk space in the single room - not an issue as very comfortable downstairs .
- We received far too many emails from the hotel group prior to arrival (nine). Ironically, I did mail them to ask for assistance with one request and was told by the centrally operated automatic email that I needed to contact the hotel directly. I felt more like a 'sales opportunity' than a customer, although this was all to do with central reservations and not the staff at the establishment itself. It appeared that the heating was controlled centrally and turning-up the radiators had no effect when attempting to increase the temperature of the room. It was below zero outside and the room was therefore cold when we got out of bed in the morning. Although WiFi was available, we were unable to find details of the password in the room.

The old style and charmGood food menu and wine list
I had asked for a room with a bath but nobody replied
Beautiful room, friendly staff, wonderful food, great location.
Nothing to dislike.
the rooms were beautiful with extra touches such as games and books and a radio playing lovely music as we entered. The staff were friendly. We will definitely be back to visit again hopefully maybe see a ghost..
Excellent staff, excellent room, excellent breakfast!
Nothing!
We stayed in the annex, it was great. Lovely bathroom and comfy bed.
Menu was ordinary
Location is ideal on high street with parking at rear.It felt like it has been recently refurbed. Bathroom felt fresh and new. Furnishings in good condition. Bed was comfy. The whole hotel was well presented. We felt it was good value for money.
There were no Bathrobes. After asking a few times the response was rather weird. “There will be no robes in any rooms for January/February as they have all been sent off for cleaning”
We stayed for one night, the room was really lovely, very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom and complimentary products. Breakfast was excellent, great choices too. Overall we were really pleased with our stay, great value for money too and we would definitely stay again.
There was nothing i didn't like!
This is our fourth stay at the Tudor House hotel. Always find it clean and staff welcoming. Excellent breakfast and close to pubs and restaurants.
Very friendly staff lovely clean rooms and excellent food
Location and dog friendly
pleasant decor. comfortable bed and furniture. Helpful staff. Good food. i
Location, charm , rooms
Ideal location near the theatre we were going to and the main street.Lovely decor especially the paintings in hotel.Wonderful atmosphere.
It was brilliant filled with old beams brilliant pictures and excellent rooms.
Fabulous location, and the building is amazing, full of character. The bedroom was large and very comfortable bed, with plenty of room for the dogs. Breakfast was plentiful with a very good choice of food.
The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been the option of a bath (there was only a shower).
Everything, beautiful hotel, oldy worldy, impeccably clean, facilities modern without changing the structure of this Tudor aged building. Couldn't rate it better.
The evening meal I chose wasn't especially great and portions were a bit small. However, everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals .
Position in town very good. Friendly staff. Fine old building
Access by stairs a bit cumbersome (wife had bad knee). Car park cramped and double parking.
Friendly staff - we really flexible with parking in the morning so we could have a mooch around the time.
My wife felt the mattresses were uncomfortable but that is always a matter of preference. Perhaps it is my wife I didn't like.
