    Pros +

    • Upon arrival we were greeted with a kind and friendly smile, we had a slight issue booking in but the girl on the counter made up the time by asking us about our trip and showed an interest in the activities we had been up to. After a brief wait the issue was resolved and we were given the key to our room. When booking a hotel in Wales you want somewhere warm and dry, this hotel provided that. The shower was hot and there was a lovely view from the room which we paid extra for. There was a slight issue in the kitchen with the grill so we didn’t try the dinner menu but the beer was good, the barman was very apologetic and friendly and the restaurant was modern and cosy. For breakfast again, we were greeted with a friendly welcome and was shown where everything was to help ourselves to. Overall I’d go back here for the location, friendly staff and the free parking for guests.

    • The staff are super friendly and it’s clean and the food is great and good value

    Cons -

    • Unfortunately, these are the parts that let the hotel down for me.. From the minute you leave the reception and head upstairs, apart from the odd radiator thats been upgraded, it seems to be the original decor, this isn’t a big deal for me as like i said in Wales throughout winter you just want somewhere warm and dry. There was a slight issue in the kitchen with the grill so we didn’t try the dinner menu and unfortunately for us everywhere else was closed or booked up so we had to drive further out just to find something for dinner - although the grill was the hotels issue they still provided a menu but going elsewhere was our choice so can’t knock them down for that. The room was on the smaller side and the walls were paper thin, unfortunately for us, we had 2 screaming kids one side and the world’s loudest snorer the other. This leads us onto the beds itself, i don’t think Ive ever slept on a bed so soft and struggled to get a good night sleep as every time i rolled over i nearly ended up on the floor where the mattress just sunk. Don’t let this put you off if you just want a quick stop over in a prime location and friendly staff, i just personally wouldn’t stay for more than one night.
    • Food price was a lil high...!!

Super friendly staff, especially the morning/breakfast staff. Comfy bed and newly refurbished bathroom.Good location to start lots of walks.

Not really anything that I didn't like. Just worth noting that you need to park up and register your vehicle ASAP, or risk getting a ticket posted. The car park is owned by another company, but is free if you are staying at the hotel...as long as you register as soon as you arrive. Food took a while to come out at dinnertime.

    On the main road home

Well it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a place that overstates its accommodation. The price encouraged me to reserve a room. ( Don’t be fooled ! It’s not worth what it charges). The double room was tiny, the the bathroom was tiny & awkward to enter, the TV is on a swinging bracket that is very dangerous to leave it in the viewing position awhile moving around such a small room, the TV is an accident waiting to happen. Plus it doesn’t work. Cooked breakfast was about the only fresh thing about our overnight stay. (Very nice) served by a very nice and informative lady. We booked & payed for a room with a view ( car park was our view), we travel a lot, unfortunately this establishment is not on our list as a repeat stay.

Location and staff were wonderful, beautiful view from the front of the hotel/pub, very friendly and accommodating staff

Rooms very hot on arrival but soon cooled down with the window open but then the traffic was quite loud with the window open.

It was a nice stop for 1 night, the room was comfortable and quiet, we had a good sleep. The hotel is super dog friendly , which is amazing. The shower had very strong pressure, which made our washing a bit tricky, but other than that all is good, thank you.A special thank you to a nice lady who served breakfast (don't remember the name, sorry), she greeted us with the warmest smile and was very pleasant to us and the dog :)

    Water pressure in the shower

Excellent hotel, good parking, very good menu , excellent food quality and price. All staff very helpful and friendly.

    10JamesPosted on: 10-26-2025

The receptionist ( kane ) i think was beyond pleasant. Apart from the beautiful landscape he was the best thing in the area. Polite and knowledgeable a great asset. The bed was super comfy and shower was amazing . Pub was nice for a beer after a long day exploring . 10/10 will be back.

Good chance you'll have to book dinner as it can be busy, only because the food is amazing so is it really a downside ?
