    Pros +

    • Great location with amazing views from our room, the bar and conservatory. Very comfortable room with excellent shower room. Friendly staff. Decent home cooked food in the evening, but nothing special. Excellent gym but pool is not a swimming pool, more a plunge pool. Booked a body massage which was excellent and good value although the treatment room was not as luxurious as others I have used.
    • We had a beautiful room, with sea views, over looking the garden. Staff were excellent and very friendly.
    • Breakfast was great. Location great.

    Cons -

    • Very small car park. Some parts of the hotel looking are looking a bit worn and the spa pool was tepid.
    • Room was hot. Duvet was polyester which made for a hot night
    • Food and drink prices getting a little expensive which discourages people from eating there more than once during stay. A good value 3 course evening meal would be excellent as food good.

Room had been refurbished and was very nice. Conservatory restaurant has amazing view of the sea. Hotel is quiet and relaxing.

Lovely location with stunning views over the bay.Room was comfortable and clean.Coffee and tea making facilities.Good shower roomBar and gardens lovely. Didn't eat in hotel so no comment on breakfast or evening menu.

Parking was very limited for hotel size. Unfortunately window was blown but did not distract too much from view. Short stay but met needs.

Great experience. The hotel was very nice with great views from the lounge/bar area. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. The view from the room was OK. I had a good time. The drinks from the bar were good as well. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would go there again. I liked the addition of a gym and spa.

Slightly better view from the room, but due yo the number of rooms that would be quite difficult as it is a large Victorian hotel.

The sea view room was worth every penny. My partner and I woke up early watched the sunrise and listened to the waves crashing. It was the perfect relaxing getaway that we needed.

    9SarahPosted on: 3-21-2025

Lovely staff and location. Simple comfortable room and nice breakfast.

Would be great if tap water in the room was potable but no great issue to pop down and collect the readily available bottles of water left out in the bar area.

The room was comfortable, and the view of the bay from the restaurant was fantastic.

The food in the restaurant was below average and over priced, they got our order and drinks wrong. The staff member did not listen.

The location is stunning. The hotel needs modernization and they are working on it.

A bit pricey. Room furniture didn't match, which is interesting.

The traditional appearance of the hotel is comfortable and the fabulous sea view from the breakfast room, dining room and lounge is wonderful in itself. The food in the restaurant at supper was delicious (lamb shank main and sticky toffee pudding 10/10. High rating from someone who considers STP one of my fortes in the cooking department!) Staff were very friendly and kind.

Location is very good and staff very friendly. Food was very good as well.

The hotel is a bit dated and tired. Pillows need changing.

    6MilesPosted on: 3-8-2025

    Large garden, good service.

Food was not great. No possibility of food outside lunch and dinner times. Access to/from garden via gym area!

Booked double room for rare weekend away. Despite confirmation, was put in a twin! Ruined the stay

    8Marie-annePosted on: 2-17-2025

My room was great with stunning views. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot and powerful. The hotel itself is magnificent. The decor has a real homely feel, I loved having a glass of wine with a book by the fire. In addition, the food was delicious. The service was also great, every staff member had a smile on their face and were happy to help.

There's not much to complain about as I had a great time, but I think the spa needs a little revamp. In particular, in the therapy room, I could hear the gym goers whilst getting treatment, and it wasn't very relaxing. Perhaps they should consider double glazed doors. I also didn't like that they didn't have bottled water in the rooms, which meant that I had to bring a jug upstairs every night. I also thought that they could have left a couple packs of buscuits, instead of the one.

Nice hotel. Nice lounge and restaurant areas. Rooms looked newly refurbished. Comfy bed. Lovely sea views. Friendly helpful staff throughout.

Below average breakfast. Limited choice of cereals, and limited choice of preserves for toast e.g. no honey/ marmite. Also ran out of pastries mid-breakfast.

    9AnnePosted on: 2-4-2025

Lovely sea view from the bedroom. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

The lift wasn't working but we had been advised of this before our stay.

    10StevePosted on: 2-3-2025

Fantastic location, balcony room with exceptional view. Very clean room...had a rib eye steak and a lamb shank in the restaurant, both were cooked to perfection. can't think of any negatives. Highly recommended
