They are refurbishing BUT the customer service was exceptional and the food exceptional. We will definitely return thank you

Only the refurbishment but it didn’t impact us really

Very close to the Paultons Park (5min walk)

The sink in the bathroom is too small, hard to use it without splashing the water outside. Breakfast could have included pastries/danish

Nice pub b&b. Food was great, staff really friendly, room was clean. WiFi and tv worked. Simple and easy.

Room 11 overlooks the car park and the lights were on all night (totally unnecessary). I live in London so it’s not like I’m not used to street lighting but the current set up is like sleeping next to a fully illuminated football stadium! (Black out curtains didn’t help). Unfortunately it wasn’t until I woke up after midnight that I realised otherwise if the bar had been open I’d have requested to move rooms. My 5 year old also later woke up around 3am asking “is it morning”?! Also above the kitchen which was noisy until late but that is advised in the advert. I suspect above the bar area and restaurant would be quieter, especially after 11.

Very good staff members, they was very helpful and polite. The food was very good and tasty & the location was perfect.

When we arrived and we was put in our room it wasn’t the room that we originally booked, but the staff went out of there way and put it into another room that was big enough for the 3 of us (as we had a toddler) The room wasn’t clean, dust on the floor and on the sills, the shower plug was absolutely revolting, my 2 year old went for a shower and he picked the plug up and it was black with grime and lots of hair in there! I left milk in the fridge for my baby and I asked them what time the kitchen was open and they said 7 o’clock am so we went down stairs at 7 o’clock and there was a que outside the door with staff members waiting to get in, we eventually got in at 8:30am and then to get to the fridge and my milk I left there was gone.

Rustic, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, courteous staff who allowed us to stay in the garden where our child preferred to break his fast, rather than in the breakfast area. Great location close to paultons park.

Can't fault much for the price

Food and service excellent. The only negative was the music (presumably from the breakfast room) that could be heard in my room at from 7.15am on Sunday morning.

    Fantastic breakfast plenty of choice

The heating didn't seem to be working complained a couple of times till it seemed to come on but took so long for the bar and the room to warm up then woke up at 1pm the room was like an oven couldnt seem to get it right. Plus was not warned of the building work being done to bar and restaurant

Large room comfortable king bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast really tasty.Nice location quiet and green but only a few miles from Southampton Romsey etc.

    6StevePosted on: 3-24-2025

Staff were very helpful and friendly, good food choice on the menu. Nice comfortable bar area to sit and have a drink and some food. Rooms are comfortable, good facilities, tea & coffee making facilities, bottles of water in the room and shampoo, shower gel etc provided in the shower room.

There are currently renovations going on as it is under new management, the restaurant section is closed but there are tables in the main bar area to eat so not too much disruption caused.

    Staff friendly and breakfast good.

Freezing first night as having work done and no heating, given small heater but made no or little difference. Think a cheek to charge full price considering. TV reception poor so unable to watch program of choice. Listening to staff grievances over breakfast, not best and advise to take it out of ear shot rather than right next to only guests in whole pub. Little awkward first thing.

The food was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful. The room was lovely airy and very clean.

    NOTHING!"!!

FREEZING COLD ROOMS. ONLY ONE MEMBER OF STAFF ON DUTY. RESTAURANT - 18 PEOPLE WAITING TO BE SERVED WITH JUST ONE MEMBER OF STAFF. SHOWER DOOR FELL OFF - SHOWER WENT FROM HOT TO FREEZING COLD IN SECONDS, COULD NOT OPERATE SHOWER, NO INSTRUCTIONS IN ROOM. CHEF DID NOT KNOW HOW TO PREPARE AND SERVE A CEASAR SALAD. BELLY OF PORK DONE IN A MICROWAVE!!! WE FROZE TO DEATH THAT NIGHT AS THE RADIATORS NEEDED TO BE BLED, ROOM WAS FREEZING. PLUG IN SINK IN BATHROOM WOULD NOT STAY DOWN, COULD NOT HAVE A WASH IN MORNING. COFFEE IN BREAKFAST ROOM WAS EMPTY, AND SO WAS THE ORANGE DRINK JUG. FOUR MEMBERS OF STAFF, YET NOT ONE BOTHERED TO FILL THESE JUGS UP!

    Location

Decorating happening no warning of. Bathroom a little tired . Hairdryer supplied but cord didn’t reach where mirror was

Little English breakfast was over cooked, hard sausages, bacon..

Again dinner over cooked fish, not very nice chips.

    10GaryPosted on: 1-25-2025

Room was very nice, breakfast freshly cooked and plentiful.Unfortunately we didn't get to try the dinner as we were there for a Funeral Wake, but the buffet that was put on for that was exceptionally good.

Nothing everything was just perfect for us.

    7ChrisPosted on: 1-8-2025

We had dinner at the hotel and it was very good. My partner had the soup of the day which was deliscious and we both had fish and chips as the main course which was excellent. We were served in a very friendly and helpful manner.

The bedroom which was very large and elegant could have benefitted from a large rug and a few more pictures. The wall next to the shower needs a bit of attention.
