Pros +
- Hotel perfect and grounds amazing
- Location and the grounds were beautiful
- the garden was absolutely lovely, so many little things which add personality to the place, like the tiny 'elf' houses at the base of the trunk of some trees, the small statues, the house under the meadow, the chicken, the cats, etc... all inviting one to go through the garden one more time maybe there is something else to discover. Also the location is great to explore the New Forest park, there are horses everywhere.
Cons -
- Staff not very friendly, they tried to charge me and my children for swimming even though we were staying guests and to overcharge us when we left which I had to double check. Had a constant feeling that they don't like young families there, starting with my children getting told off for running to their rooms by a staff member the moment we arrived, being grumbled at when we asked if we could use the tennis courts, I also said multiple times we were staying for my husband's 40th and we're really excited but they didn't do anything special or acknowledge it. The coffee machine and shower in our room didn't work properly but we didn't want to say and get another eye roll from staff. Probably great for older guests but I'd advise young families to avoid.
- The noise... the thumping, squeaking, voices, etc.... it all becomes quiet at night though . The room was tiny. I ordered the chicken breast burger as a casual lunch and although the garnish was really good and the seasoning as well, the meat was under-cooked and stringy (unlike the beef burger, chicken actually needs to be well done...).
- Vegan food choices could have been less predictable and more in keeping with the style and service for non vegetarian/vegans. Although the quality of food was good.

Room and location was wonderful, easy access to the New Forest, the gardens were beautiful.

Breakfast was ok. At £15 not very good value for money.
First impression, could have been in an old people's home. The decor was very late 80's early 90's. Carpet on bathroom floor, really. Carpet up the side of the bath, says it all. Mentioned water pressure to reception, I had to put up with scalding hot/really cold shower. Relieved that I was only there for I night.
The hotel was close enough for us to drive to the family wedding we had travelled down to Hampshire for.
We had booked a family room for 2 nights and paid £475 for it!!!! So obviously we were expecting a lovely hotel with overly helpful staff and a lovely familyroom. When we arrived the receptionist handed me 2 room keys.My teenager was meany to sleep in a bedroom on her own, this was never going to happen in a new place, very daunting for her, and also not what I'd booked. Therefore, my partner had to sleep in this second bedroom alone. The receptionist didn't offer us any kind of gesture for the inconvenience, not even a free drink at the bar. we were looking forward to turning up to a nice comfy family bedroom after a long drive, I was really, so disappointed and upset, I was tired, and this was just not what I had paid for. I went to sleep quite upset. Then, after this disappointment on arrival, l just noticed everything that was wrong. The shower head was covered in limescale and obviously hadn't been deep cleaned in months. There were also cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling again. It obviously hadn't been cleaned that deeply.Housekeeping came into our room even tho I didn't leave the makeup room sign on the door. They didn't remake the bed, just emptied the bin, and left 6 milk sachets. Didn't refill the sugar or bottled water, although I wouldn't have used the sugar sachets, as were all hard and stuck together anyway. I paid £10 to hire a travel cot, although I was assured it would be a cot on arrival. Luckily, we had brought our baby's sleep nest with us, as I wouldn't have put him straight into that travel cot.a Travle cot is not a cot.The bed was uncomfortable, lumpy, and bumpy, and the headboard made annoying squeaky noilses every time you moved in the bed.
We needed a rest after London, Passford is perfect. Comfortable, quiet, beautiful gardens, friendly helpful staff, spacious, historical. What more can I say.
Staff were friendly
Mattress in room 140 - uncomfortable & didn’t sleep week. Tiredness of the room. No luxuries
We liked the pool and sauna. The grounds and outdoors were beautiful. Inside the house itself was like going back in time in a good way, it felt unique.
The bathroom was a bit small, trying to open the door fully meant it would hit the loo, but that's about it, everything was great really.
Excellent food.
Dinner menue did not change.Staff cleared dinner lay up and layed for breafast while we and other guests were having our dinner. Very un professional.
Cooked breakfast items were of good quality.
Lunch items were not as described, substitutes being made. TV did not work properly and room information should be provided in paper format. The room was small, making if difficult to do certain things e.g. work at the desk area. Toiletry dispensers were impossible to use when in the bath.
The location was fantastic just a short drive form Lymington but so peaceful and beautiful grounds. The staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one.The hotel had everything for a wonderful stay, our stay was unexpected but now we have discovered this beautiful hotel we will be back to enjoy a longer stay.
No one could have done more, it was perfect.
Excellent breakfast, good quality sausages etc..Very pretty well maintained gardens.Very comfortable lounges and convivial bar area.
Although we were only staying in a Standard Room a shower over a bath is not always convenient for older persons. Having said that, the room was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a very pretty view of the garden
Lovely large room and bathroom. Beautiful gardens and quiet location
Breakfast was adequate, just the normal buffet english breakfast with a couple of extra options available. The indoor pool is pleasant but could do with a bit of a freshen up decor wise. Bar areas lacked atmosphere.
Nice location to explore the new forest . Had use of nice indoor pool at the end of both days . Breakfast lovely and ate in the bar on both evenings , food great . Daniel very helpful with room cost issue .
Small items : Would have been nice to have shampoo /conditioner provided as in most hotels.
This is a quirky hotel with several lounges, each with log fires and comfy chairs. Lovely grounds to stroll around. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We thought the food was overpriced.
No space in the bathroom to put toiletries. Could hear people walking around upstairs due to the squeaky floorboards.
Been visiting for years. Consistently warm friendly cosy and tranquil. It feels so welcoming. Wonderful staff and food. Also dog friendly.
Leaving !
Nice hotel very comfortable bed
Gym was a bit tired
Nice staff
1 Room smelt odd Other room - strange noise in middle of night so had to change rooms
The location and grounds at Passford House are lovely. The staff are friendly and many have been there a long time. We stayed in the Stable Suite and found it very comfortable and peaceful with easy access to the main building. The rooms and bathrooms are a good size. The food in the restaurant in the evenings is incredible.
The Stable Suite kitchen wasn't very well equipped. There was no freezer section to the fridge, the washing machine advertised was missing and although plenty of plates and glasses it could have had more equipment, such as a colander, oven gloves,
