Beds and pillows were not the most comfortable
Incredible staff, fun location and very comfortable room.
Comfortable great food very polite and attentive staff.
Great pub accommodation very clean really friendly staff would stay again, good breakfast good location
Excellent staff. Good food. Beer at the bar is, in my opinion poor, but cans available of better beer from 'the back'!
Shower was a bit feeble.
The location, staff, and cleaning place are perfect
The food and breakfast was not acceptable
The rooms were lovely and spacious. The beds very comfy and the breakfast filling
The road noise, however the windows are being upgraded in the autumn.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, could not fault. Our room was lovely and spacious, comfy bed, very effective fan in bedroom which was much appreciated in the heat. Lovely bathroom and good shower. We had our evening meal at the hotel 1 night and it was lovely, breakfast was good too. We will definitely be stopping again.
Nothing really, just one small thing, it would have been nice to have some fruit on offer at breakfast. That is all.
A lovely pub hotel with friendly staff and spacious rooms.
The only small issue was that the mattress wasn't great; it felt worn and we could feel the springs. But we didn't complain or note that to the staff, and apart from this, we enjoyed our stay.
Central location - walking distance to shops etcVery clean - breakfast was lovely quality food
Nothing - everything good
Clean great location and excellent staff
Did not supply any soap and hand towels in bathroom
Friendliness of all the staff and nothing is to much trouble for them. The quality and presentation of the food is amazing, also a wide selection of choices for breakfast. The full stag breakfast will set you up for the day ahead.
Can't find anything we didn't like
Staff, food and location are great. Room was nice and clean and comfortable.
I was placed in room 5 next door in the Mailmans arms and was told there was live music in the pub that night. After returning at 8.00pm from a lovely dinner in the stag I was greeted by very loud music directly below my room. It was so loud the band could have been in my room. So much for a relaxing early night. I complained the next morning and the staff member agreed with me when I said that when booking if they give you this room and live music is on this should be made very clear before booking but this obviously isn’t the case.I’ve heard nothing from my complaint and have since sent 2 emails to different addresses to make contact with the manager but no response.Such a shame as always nice food and the staff I’ve met have been lovely but a real shame the customer service doesn’t match. To sum up the stay, I should have been paid to stay in that room and it ruined what had been a good weekend. If anyone would like to talk about this I’m still waiting in hope.
Dog friendly
Shower Matt full of mould grout on shower walls dirty
The 2 hotels are interchangeable - Mailman’s arms room tiny
A standard room is unbelievably small - upgrade to a larger room .
The staff were friendly
Rooms could have been cleaner we stayed in room 5 we kept awake most of the night by an air con unit which was outside the window. Then at 6.45 am we woke the bins being empty and tv on loud below us .We also got the smell off people smoking outside to I would not recommend this hotel and at breakfast number of items were missing every day like no beans no marmalade etc
Lovely property, very clean and great location.
Unfortunately the property did not have our booking. We were able to stay in a small double at the pub next door, sadly we had booked a King room at The Stag. We were offered a reduced rate which was acceptable, but still disappointing. Sadly no gluten free bread for toast in the morning despite it being on the menu. An item forgotten during dinner and breakfast. Not massive issues but all amounted to a bit of a shame on what could’ve been a fabulous stay.
Friendly staff , clean great food.
Major problems with signal for TV . Kept losing single . No basic channels just to catch up with news etc .
Comfort levels okay and food and wine provision good
Cask beer issue and cleanliness could be improved… I could see dust on fire sounders/ beacons
