About
"The Anchor Inn was a traditional Drovers Inn dating back to 1888. Over recent years, it has undergone tasteful modernization and now features a nautical-themed bar and restaurant area with hearty food and good ale. We have various rooms, all en-suite, and many have views of the Gareloch Sea. Eating at the Anchor Inn, we offer our guests the option of breakfast and dinner within our bar/restaurant area; please note that this is subject to additional charges. We would ask that guests book tables for dinner ahead of their arrival to ensure availability. Entertainment at the Anchor Inn: throughout the year, we offer various entertainment, from live music to quiz nights. See our website for further information. Please note that some of our rooms are located above the pub, where live music may be heard. We are happy to accommodate quiet room requests where possible. Glasgow is 27 miles from the accommodations. Glasgow Airport is 21 mi from the property."

Great location, good well equipped rooms, very friendly and helpful staff
The room was perfectly clean and the provisions were great. I loved the warm welcome of the staff and the breakfast was amazing! They were so accommodating and helpful. I look forward to returning.
Non applicable.
It was clean and nicely heated. As the weather outside was -2 but we were very cosy inside
My husband and I decided to visit Scotland for NY. We stayed 29th Dec to 2nd Jan. What a lovely stay. The minute we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome by Lewis. We had a deluxe room... absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. Every evening we went to the bar. All of the staff were chatty and attentive. .. notably Lewis, Kris and Chico. We had a wonderful NYE. Lovely, lovely locals, fab band, pipers and fireworks. Even though it was busy, the staff were still wonderful. We will definitely stay again. A huge thank you for a fantastic stay... especially to Lewis and Kris!
NO issues at all.
A very warm welcome; great staff; good food; nice comfortable room.

Friendly, helpful staffClean, comfortable roomGood restaurant Good breakfastOn street parking
Our room was above the bar - very noisy until 1amBreakfast quite expensive
Had a great stay at the Anchor Inn, the staff were very pleasant & fun and the room with en-suite was lovely and clean with a super comfortable bed. Had a great sleep and we Look forward to returning.
For our last day in Scotland, we wanted a good bed, having a last good scottish meal and pub ambiance. And we were very happy to find this under only one roof at Anchor Inn ! Warm welcome from hosts, good restaurant, warm ambiance, comfortable room, nice rest before leaving !
The breakfast is served at table upon the time you ask for the previous evening. Unfortunately, it seemed there was some trouble that day in particular (not usual staff ?), so breakfast was much later than expected with a few availability issues. Nothing scandalous however.
Seemed welcoming on arrival.
Staff became rude and more concerned about the locals drinking in the bar than the guests.Room was dirty, bed very uncomfortable.Staff were not accommodating to our vegan quest and refused to get us a drink as they were "busy"I asked for a dessert, the staff made fun of me and said he would bring one but was a big joke - not funny.
Staff were helpful and friendly
From a small menu one item wasn't available which left just one option for me from the menuThe bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs as you sat and lay on the bed
Brilliant rooms overlooking the Loch and the staff were a good laugh, led by Jamie who is clearly a frustrated standup comedian!
We only stayed one night.
The room was clean, tidy and the bed a good size. It was quiet, peaceful and the view out to the top of the loch was pleasant. Staff were very welcoming.
TV could have been bigger. The bar is more geared for locals than visitors but still welcoming. We chose to go into town to eat. The Anchor is a 10-15 minute drive from Helensburgh and there is nothing much to do on your doorstep so you really do need to go into town if you want more than a beer in the bar then crashing in the room.
We received a warm welcome and the one meal we had here was good. Our room had a good view over the loch.
Our room was very noisy from the loud music in the bar which made it difficult to sleep,The furniture in the room very basic with a very tired chair, a small folding tv table & folding metal chair.
Good location lovely rooms all the staff Kris Chris, Chico and Jamie were great. Evening meals were very good.
Breakfast felt it was overpriced which is a shame
The staff was fantastic and the bed huge and comfortable
We heard every step above our room, The upper floor was very creaky
Staff..food..quality of service
Room facing back of the building
Very clean, quiet and friendly landlord.
