Pros +
- Nice friendly staff..Excellent buffet breakfast with lots to choose from hot and cold
- Staff was polite, helpful.Swimming pool, jacuzzi was pleasant.Dinner was exceptional.
- Location is perfect, very easy access to the centre of Pitlochry. Plenty of parking.Breakfast was nice, pastries were a bit over done both days we were there. The pool was nice, clean, no life guard but this is explained on arrival. Jacuzzi and sauna were also good.Bed was really comfy, very good sleep.
Cons -
- Very dated. Uneven floors, sloping uneven stairs.Painting was being carried out in the corridor where we were staying. We hadn’t been told about this on check in and we actually pushed open a door and nearly knocked the paint tray over. No signage was in place for caution or wet paint. The bar staff said they didn’t take orders from your table you had to go to the bar (it wasn’t busy). The room was really large with hardly any furniture which was a bit odd! No iron and coffee machine didn’t work.
- Rooms and building are tired, needing renovation. Some of the staff are rude, but I can see that they are not well resourced so are quite frustrated in their roles, leading to a bad customer experiance.
- Some decorating and refurbishment disruption, but it was minimal.

Its ok for what it is, but you wouldnt go there unless you just needed a bed for the night. Food was ok, nothing special, but it filled a gap.

Lovely hotel, cozy, nice staff, great food and lovely leisure facilities.
Hotel was in a good location with great views. Breakfast was very good.
Some decorating and refurbishment disruption, but it was minimal.
Wonderful single room, very comfortable bed, good lighting, hot shower, particularly pleased with the desk which allowed me to get some work done in comfort.
Nice relaxing stay, swimming and sauna was lovely and really quiet which was a bonus, food was nice and breakfast was lovely and so much to choose from, would come back and stay again.
The room was so so cold especially at night time, the bathroom radiator didn't work at all so was about -3 in the morning had to put on shoes just to do a pee lol and also room light didn't work which wasn't an issue as the lamps worked. Cocktails a bit too pricey though
Beautiful elegant building in lovely setting. Staff very friendly & helpful. Bed linen good quality.
Our room was very tired with threads around the edge of the carpet. Window frame poor fit. Shower poor, plastic curtain, some mould in grout. Smell of room spray was evident even on cups, you could taste it. Just felt very tired. Charge of £20 per night for small dig excessive.
Everything was as I would expect at a traditional Highland hotel.Friendly staff good food, pleasant surroundings if a little too warm for me.
The room was newly decorated and was lovely. Also enjoyed our bar meal in the evening. We got a bargain with the price - we'll definitely come back
As always the reception staff were wonderful and very accommodating. I was travelling solo with my dog and was struggling with luggage and keeping hold of the lead. The staff were so helpful and understanding. My room was spacious and recently renovated.
The young chap at breakfast guarded the breakfast room like his life depends on it. A smile goes a long way.
A grand building with the added facilities of a spa, pool, sauna & sports hall.
No easily accessible 3 pin sockets for charging phone or iPad; appliances , lights, kettle etc are understandably installed as wired in spur units which meant scrambling under the desk to unplug tv to plug in mynown charger. Would suggest these are now basic essentials either side of the bed and above desk top. Leading edge trim to shower-room door looser and lifting. Rubber tip missing from shower-room door stop( I do professional inventory servicing so note these things. Vintage & poor bedside radio alarm on which I could find only 2 unwanted channels & no BBC radio 4 or Scotland or World Service
Leisure facilities were excellent especially being able to get towels from reception. We made full use of swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
We were informed the lift would be out of order but not that some of the rooms were being refurbished prior to our stay. Thankfully the disruption was minimal.
Location was great. Staff was lovely. Could do with some updating.
Out dated room decor and bathrooms.
Staff nice but no access to your room until 3pm. We arrived at 12pm.
Faded Victorian Grandeur. Bit dilapidated. Old carpets. Fire alarm was being tested the entire time we were there so couldn’t really communicate with staff
The staff were lovely, the pool was warm, the food excellent and we found the room that we booked for our party ideal
The location was great and the food excellent. The staff were particularly helpful
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good range of options and was tasty. Hotel was a short walk from town centre. Useful to have the pool and sauna.
Enjoyed breakfast the use of pool and room which our party shared
The bathroom door needed cleaned ..holes filed sanded and paint removed from silver door handles . Whoever painted the bathroom had no eye for detail and did a poor job. The bedroom itself was fine
The food was excellent. The swimming pool was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Accomodation was mostly good.A good view. The shower is brand new but water pressure low.It was good to see the interior of the hotel being refurbished and corridors newly painted.
We didn't like the lift being out of order for our full weeks' stay ; we were on the 2nd floor and both in our 70's !! We did get help to take our luggage up to our room. The bathroom was very very cold. The towel rail heater was on a timed box that was complicated to operate. ( it was off when the green light was on and on if you pressed the top button to switch off the green light ???)
