- Jack and Iris are wonderful hosts. Our stay was comfortable, breakfast was great and the property is delightful.
- Hosts were amazing and went out of their way for us more than once. Jack picked up our luggage at train station in morning so we could go explore Pitlochry, and then picked us up again from the distillery in the afternoon and took us to hotel to check in. Room was comfortable and perfect for our party of three friends. We hung out in the bar with the hosts and had delicious cocktails and a pretty yummy pizza for dinner. We had to leave early so missed the hot breakfast, but Jack drove us to the train station. Great service!!
- The Dunfallandy House was charming. One of the older mansion's that was remodeled. Everyone we had contact with here, was lovely. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom a bit on the small side, if you are a tall or bigger person, the shower could be an issue. It was fine for us. A delicious English breakfast was served the next morning. The house backs up to a sheep ranch...loved waking up to the sound of sheep!!! They have a very nice bar, that I wish we took advantage of using...if we come back, I would book 2 nights at the Dunfallandy House.
Cons -
- The Inn was a little hard to find. The navigation on the car was not cooperating, so we made a few circles and then saw the road. Owner's did send directions, but we were having issues with our phones this day. The fun of travel :)
- Tables and chairs in the breakfast room.
- Absolutely nothing.

Lovely home and wonderful couple managing the house.

Arriving at Dunfallandy House was like taking a step back into the gracious history of entering a Manor Home. Home being a key factor - everything from our greeting by Iris to evenings in the Bar with Jack and Iris hosting, felt like being with family. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable. One of the absolute best things about the room was a lack of the ever present invasive television. While fully modernized and technically savvy with a tablet bedside to allow for online engagement, the furnishings were meant to optimize relaxation and getting away from the stress and pressures of day to day life. Should you want to watch a movie or television show or news, a modern theater is available for your customized viewing enjoyment. All you need do is ask. Evenings in the Bar were fun and engaging with both Iris and Jack major whiskey (Scotch of course) aficionado's. The "Collection" displayed prominently on the wall opposite the bar is truly impressive. It is the culmination of 11 years effort by the couple in a customized case built by Jack. At the bar itself you are faced with an impressive array of whiskies arranged by tasting types - sweet, port/sherry/wine cask etc. up to peaty - and very peaty. Spending an evening talking and imbibing of these offerings will remain one of my most treasured memories, enhanced only by the company of Iris and Jack. And the breakfast......perhaps the most delicious and amazing food ever provided at an accomodation. Standard cold offerings were there with an abundant choice of fruit, cereals and breads/toast. But the hot offerings were what really put Dunfallandy House at the top. A beautiful full Scottish breakfast with locally sourced bacon, sausage, black pudding and haggis, and my personal favorite Avocado toast with smoked salmon. I customized that by adding Haggis and OMG. If you are near Pitlochary and Dunfallandy House has vacancy BOOK IT!
Absolutely nothing.
We loved the guest house! Jack & Iris were great host! They also have a lovely in-house bar stocked very nicely!Delicious breakfast. We would definitely stay again & highly recommend!
Jack and Iris were so friendly and welcoming. They provided suggestions on restaurants for dinner, and even had some coupons for certain ones. We enjoyed a few whiskeys from Jacks impressive collection!
Only the shower (water temp fluctuations) but they are working on upgrading the system— which is hard to do in a 200 year old house ! ?
Super cute. Jack was an amazing host. Nice breakfast included. And the bar had a speak easy feel. Very quaint and welcoming.
Iris and Jack made us all feel very welcome! They also made amazing drinks and food ? If we are ever back in Scotland, I would love to stay again and spend a few days.
No problems. Everything was great!
A beautiful place to start our adventures in the Highlands! Iris and Jack have taken a beautiful but old country house and injected it with new vitality while respecting the history of the manor and surroundings. Beautifully decorated, the highlight for me is the library bar (and the overwhelmingly amazing selection of Scotch) and watching the football match on the big screen in the gathering space. My only regret is that we didn't book more nights - but we'll be back!
Clean immaculate practical room with a lovely look and finish including open storage.Beautiful, relaxing bar and lounge area an absolute joy to sit in with the stylish decor, music and lighting contributing to a unique ambience including reasonably priced delicious food and homemade dessert.Flawless breakfast.Wonderful hospitality received from hosts Jack and Iris.An enchanting location.
Nothing !.
Amazing hosts, fantastic breakfast options, outstanding whisky collection, and comfort rooms with excellent facilities. Will absolutely be back!
Nothing needs to change.
Top floor room overlooking hills with sheep and lambs bleating. Very peacefull. Beautiful old building with plenty of character. Jack and Iris very attentive. Learnt a bit about whiskey due to vast collection in bar.
Room was a bit too warm and shower not powerful enough.
The best host’s we have ever encountered on our travels. So many thanks to Jack, Iris and Holly. Nothing was too much trouble ?. Fabulous breakfast and a superb lounge plus a separate TV/Cinema lounge.
Excellent communications with the owner, Jack prior to arrival. Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted by our superb host, Holly.Lovely setting, the hotel is stunning, with a very comfortable lounge and a very impressive bar lounge with an incredible vast and extensive whisky collection! We had pizza for dinner and it was delicious.Nothing was too much trouble for Holly and she made our stay very comfortable, enjoyable and positively memorable. Our bedroom was very cosy and comfortable, there was want for nothing! - All the small finer touches and additions were there. A good selection of continental and a range of cooked breakfast options were available, all prepared to a tastefully high standard. We usually stay in chain hotels, such as Hilton. This was a refreshing change and it reminded me of what an independent high quality accommodation establishment should be like! My family and l will certainly be back!I have no hesitation in recommending Dunfallandy House Hotel for your next stay in Pitlochry.5 star and 10 out of 10!
Such a warm welcome on arrival from the owner, Jack. I have Coeliac disease, it wasn’t a problem and I enjoyed a very tasty gluten free breakfast. Such a beautiful building, loved the wee tour, and especially loved the bar lounge area where there’s a huge range of whisky and delicious gins.
Amazing from the moment we stepped in. Great common rooms, cosy fire in the evening, very comfortable bedroom, freshly-made breakfast, and the kindest owner and staff :)
Comfortable stay, property is old and interesting, but clean and great value. Staff were friendly, helpful, and wanted to engage in conversation. Wonderful breakfast too.

Dunfallandy House Hotel was a very lovely cozy hotel. It was a short walk from Pitlochry which was handy and helpful. The proprieters were extremely welcoming and friendly and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived and were very helpful. They were lovely. We also were able to check in right away. The rooms were cozy, clean and very comfortable. Shower was fine too. Our breakfast was delicious. We would def return to Dunfallandy House Hotel.
Nothing, we were delighted with everything, all very positive.
Holly and Jack were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. They were amazing about dietary issues (two of us are gluten free - coeliac). The went out of their way to provide appropriate and delicious GF food for us, and also made it possible for us to see a red squirrel! Lovely historic property.
