    Pros +

    • The room was quiet and very comfortable, all staff were very pleasant and efficient, and the breakfast was excellent. The building is very impressive and is well furnished.
    • Beautiful, high spec rooms.Fabulous breakfast. The staff are fabulous. Can't wait to return.
    • Location and staff are excellent.Very comfortable beds with top quality bedding and pillows.Excellent breakfast selections.

    Cons -

    • Our room (#9) had an opaque glass in the lower pane of the window, which prevented a view of all but the sky. The view may be only across the roof but a clear pane would be preferred.
    • Not applicable
    • My only gripe was my companion was a dog and although my room was dog friendly I was unable to use the other hotel facilities as dogs were excluded. That was very disappointing and put a damper on my visit.

Room was great and also dinner very good!

Not much variety in breakfast, should have more vegetables and plain yogurt. Also could not watch Netflix in room with plain TV and no smart TV.

Staff, location , food once folks had got to grips with the fact that oats are not gluten free.

Just needs a toilet roll holder. ;-)

Nice looking hotel … that’s about it

Besides the nice reception girl, all the staff were rude and incompetentThe restaurant staff are utterly useless The food is horrendous, especially for the prices we had the venison and it clearly been defrosted quickly in a water bath and tasted like absolute spongy rubbishThe staff were not attentive at all. They’re absolutely more interested in tall groups than they are individuals or groups. I believe one of the waiters who looked after us was Greek or Romanian and he was terrible and I never pick up individuals but he made our experience so bad , when I left the restaurant and asked to pay after sitting there for ages waiting for the bill after we’ve been sitting there ages between courses and got our wine in our main course he then granted at me and pointed toward the till and got me to sign the receipt It was something around £160 for two courses and one large glass of wine and it was all horridThe room was pokey and really expensive what it was And this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but Skye is just full of midges so if you do go outside, you just get attacked Out of the several hotels we stayed in Scotland. This was by far the worst and by far one the worst hotels I’ve stayed at ever and it was the most expensive hotel in our trip! Just shocking all round , I’m not even gonna advise what the hotel should do. They need to get an order of that hotel done immediately.Avoid this hotel at all costs .

Nothing! A gracious country manor with attentive staff and beautiful decor .throughout.

    The grounds

This is a faded lady who even in whatever refurb they tried was shoddy even garish . Its new rooms felt motel like . I could go on but fair enough to say I wouldn’t be returning .

Restaurant was very good, choice and quality of foodRoom very spacious and comfortableSurrounding area picturesque

Had to ask twice for tv to be fixedSlow bar service uninviting and gave up waiting on first nightTurn down service was promised but did not happen any evening of the stay

Room was very nice, spacious and comfortable.

No lift, too many stairs. No bellhop service. Poor service in dining room at lunch. Quality of the dinner not great. Way overpriced.

    9LynnePosted on: 9-7-2025

The food is wonderful, great dinner and breakfast.

The bathroom was... very odd. It's huge and strangely inconvenient, lacking any counter space and wet on every surface due to the exposed design of the shower.

    9JohannPosted on: 9-4-2025

Very comfortable and spacious rooms. The staff at breakfast were engaging and friendly.

The hotel’s evening restaurant somewhat exploited its captive audience with over-priced meals. Wait staff were inattentive apart from poorly trained and couldn’t adequately deal with a complaint of under-cooked fish. Avoid if you can.

    8DanaPosted on: 9-1-2025

We had dinner at the hotel and the restaurant has this amazing view overlooking the sea. The surroundings are spectacular and inviting to long strolls along the shore.

There is no lift, so God help you if you have 2 large luggage + extra bags like we did !
