- The location is beautiful. Room was lovely and the service from the staff were fantastic.
- The inn is situated bedside the beach at Mundesley with bedrooms at the back of the property having sea views Family friendly, dog friendly, attentive efficient staff , delicious food and comfy ,quirky accommodation. We will definitely stay at The Ship Inn again
- Fabulous coastal location and views. Beautiful rooms. Incredibly dog (pet) friendly - welcomed in all areas. Huge outside space (if weather is good this is an amazing spot to have a few drinks). Very accessible to beach/sea/promenade/walks and hikes.
Cons -
- Very small bar serving very large number of guests - hotel guests and day trippers. For such a hugely popular venue the bar is very small which meant service could be a tad slow. Other than that, it's fabulous.
- Shower little snug and door bit stiff
- Nothing - it was superb.

Beautiful large room with sea view.Firm comfortable bed. First time to have one firm one soft pillow on the bed.Great staffLovely breakfast
Fantastic location, right on the beach. Incredibly dog friendly - the staff love dogs and go out of their way to make you and your furry friends feel comfortable. Lovely beer garden which overlooks the sea. Very comfortable and cosy rooms. Highly recommend!
Nothing - it was superb.
Good variety and quality of breakfast. Friendly staff great location for our dog.
Fixed breakfast starting time at 9 am. Dinner menu was poor with deleted items. Insufficient room for seating away from the movement of waiters etc.
The room was lovely.
We felt the staff were really overworked, lots of dishes, empty glasses etc everywhere in the bar and restaurant areas and too many customers with not enough staff to clear and serve. The same staff were on duty yesterday lunchtime and evening and breakfast this morning. That said they were all fantastic , nothing was too much trouble and they did a brilliant job.
I liked the friendliness of the staff. In particular the gentleman that checked us in (Nick I think) Our waitress Clarice was a treasure. The location was perfect with adequate parking. Restaurant meal was nice.
Just slight feedback regarding the bathroom (room 8) I appreciate the room, bathroom and shower were small, but the design of the shower door made it difficult to enter the shower cubicle. Very narrow space to squeeze in through
Great location very close to beach with sea view from room. Friendly staff.
Smelt a bit musty. Feels like it needs a bit of a smarten up. Feels more like a 3 star hotel with 4 star prices. Certainly adequate for a day or two.
Spacious room overlooking the stormy sea.
Strange pictures and artefacts!
The room was clean and Big the condiments were topped up every day the staff for a very friendly and the location was fantastic. I had the Seaview room which I most definitely would recommend.
The Seaview room the big comfy bed the nice bath and the large shower
location was great, staff wonderful
Bedroom: Honestly the room was TINY I’d guess about 10 foot by 12 foot (hotel please correct me on this if I’m wrong on that) it has no wardrobes or drawers to put clothes in, so apart from a few pairs of my trousers and a few of my wife’s dresses which we put on coat hangers around the walls to stop them creasing, the rest of our clothes had to stay in the suitcase we brought them in. Another observation was that the room got extremely warm in the early evenings (I did check and the heating was not on) so we ended up sleeping with the window open, a fan was provided in the room, so I’m guessing the hot room issue was a known problem, but the thing was so noisy we couldn’t sleep with it on, hence the open window as the weather was cool outsideOn the plus side the view was fairly good and the binoculars on the windowsill were a nice touch also the bed was comfortable.Bathroom: Sorry but this was a even worse, quite narrow but usable, being generous I’ll just say it had a ‘dubious’ smell, which got marginally worse after flushing the toilet, one tap was coming away from the wall, the shower did not draining properly, rapidly filling up and overflowing onto the floor, oh and one of the two sinks appeared to be blocked so we just used the other one. Then there is the point that a number of guests and reviewers have mentioned… the cost of food and drink,,, Quite simply the cost of breakfast is in my opinion extortionate, as this time we booked via booking.com breakfast wasn’t included and we were told by the hotel breakfast was £18 per person per day, so £36 per day for us! For what we have for breakfast it would actually be cheaper for us to eat at the Dorchester on Park Lane in London (yes I actually looked it up!) By chance we had read a review about this which suggested a lovely little cafe 5 mins walk away and got a wonderful breakfast for less than £10, sadly the fish and chips shop on site was equally expensive.
The staff were very welcoming on arrival and the Cosy Double room was spotlessly clean and plenty big enough for an overnight stay. The bed was very comfortable and my husband liked the pillows so much I have ordered a couple for home! Would definitely stay here again if in this area
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel the staff on arrival were fantastic and very welcoming to us and our dog Drum-Stik who also got a bed and treats. We are booking again for my birthday. Loved it and highly recommend
The view, staff, room and the food were first class. You must visit….
Fantastic place in good location right on the sea front- 2 min walk down steps onto beach. Great area in front with 10 tables then 50 ish tables in rear garden, split Dinning’s areas inside - dog friendly everywhere. Bed comfy on 1st floor, bathroom good - all very clean.
Couldn’t get a table apparently all reserved / booked but we noted the same 10 tables not used all night - don’t think the staff wanted the extra service …… nothing major but the food menu looked appealing.
Liked the location
The room (a Superior/deluxe sea view room) was horrible. The decor was awful with the donkey toy and cigarette advertising posters, it was not shabby chic, just shabby. No drawers or wardrobe for clothes storage. No facilities in bathroom for toiletries, other than a horrible rusty shelf over the small enamel wash basin. The windows were filthy and the accumulation of black mould on the window frames was nasty.
Good location , nice pub feel and good beers. Bedding clean and good quality and bed comfortable . Staff friendly and breakfast excellent .
Our room had a pump for the water which when flushing was noisey.
