Room was a bit musty.
Very friendly staffGood foid
Bathroom cramped and fittings fell off the wall. Bed linen and towels tired.Very loud traffic noise.
Nice hotel off the beaten track. We stayed here to go to a rugby match at the principality stadium and didn’t want to stay in the centre of Cardiff.
Lovely room, comfy bed. There were thoughtful treats in the room even dog bowls, rug and treats for my dog. There was a play area for dog to safely run and play. Dinner and breakfast were tasty and filling ? will definitely be staying again.
Great location away from Newport but easy commute, great food, excellent breakfast with comfortable room.
Could do with breakfast being served from 7AM. Currently 7.30AM.
The pub is located in attractive surroundings and there is an enclosed field for the dogs. Most of the staff are polite and friendly.
The owner is extremely rude and definitely needs some robust training in customer relations. A shame because the other staff members we conversed with couldn’t have been more courteous!
V friendly staff, Welsh cake in room on arrival, v clean
A king size bed would be good
Lovely staff, delicious meals.
There is a busy road next to the property but we didn’t mind much. But for difficult sleepers it may be useful information.
From the outside the property looked lovely and it was in a lovely location. The food (in the evening) was lovely.
The fact the room I had booked 6 months ago, a twin room, was given to us but going into it we found other guests items and raising this with staff we got a double room instead - the only one left. The bed was awful, the bathroom door didn't lock easily, the towels were stained.
The Inn was very welcoming and had a warm atmosphere on arrival and in the evening in the bar by the open fire and the cosy bar surroundings. The beer/wine and food were all very good with an ample but clearly well cooked and presented menu. My room was comfortable and warm with all the amenities I needed.
The only issue was I realised in the morning the HOT towel rail to warm the bathroom wasn't working, so a little chilly after showering. I did report it to the staff in the morning.
Generously sized room, with modern shower room. Good selection of hot drinks you could make yourself in the room, including welsh hot chocolate. Had bottle of water and fresh welsh cakes which was a lovely extra touch in the room. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Evening meals we didn't have but they looked great. Service was friendly. Pub was busy and had a wonderful atmosphere. You know the place is going to be good when locals are in there. Worth the money.
A lot of traffic on the road to the side of the property unfortunately.
Location, lovely pub too
Double bed not as comfy as the single bed
Fantastic steak & kidney pie and a very generous portion too. Good local beer too from Wye Brewery and from Cardiff. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Kelly and the whole team are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. You are made to feel like friends from the moment you arrive to when you leave. The rooms are very homely with lots of space. The pub is just perfect, and the Butty Bach on draft is a particular favourite of ours! This is our second stay and we will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you for making our stay so special ??
If I had one thing to change, it would just be the tv in room 6! It's a little small.
Everything about the greyhound inn is excellent, the management the staff are brilliant, food from the restaurant is very good and is a decent price,The hotel itself is very clean and tidy,I would definitely visit again and can highly recommend a visit
Everything is good, nothing to dislike
