The Wallace Steakhouse with Rooms

Clean, modern, very comfortable.

The car park is a free municipal car park, 100metres away. I had a motorbike in a van, and thought the hotel had private parking at the hotel. Everything was fine, the car park is open and well lit, but I couldn’t see it, so I was nervous.

Very hot room with no extra fans available. Room did not cool even when the temperature dropped.Maybe a ceiling fan would be a reasonable fix for this issue.Ran out of toilet tissue…no shampoo,conditioner or body wash in the bathroom which we would have expected for a quality hotel.

Lovely clean room nicely decorated comfortable but small double bed.

Our room was on the main road which was very noisy from the passing traffic. There were ear plugs provided but you could still hear the traffic the windows would benefit from soundproofing. We also could not operate the smart TV which was all apps and even when we did manage to watch something it kept switching to adverts which then stayed on a repeat loop and would not let us finish watching the film so we gave up with the TV .

absolute rubish

the food was rubish fillett steak i ordered medium it was dried our completly sent it back the replacement was worse it was sliced ib halfe and still dried out breakfast was the same bacon and sausage was in edible

Staff were amazing. Always making sure that we were ok. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing

Did not have breakfast too early 8 til 9

Asked for ground floor room and they confirmed upper ground floor, but given top floor changed on site to 2nd floor.staff not very helpful with bags etc. all doors seemed to be locked immediately after breakfast, difficulty getting out.

Wonderful, warm & welcoming team.Good size, comfortable room with plenty of mirrors and lighting.Great selection of hot beverages.Nice to have bottled sparkling water but would have liked a still option.Lovely breakfast options.

Could do with a blackout blind or blackout curtains.Would have preferred fresh milk.Hanging space is a little limited if you have long garments.A hook on the back of the door would be good for outdoor coats but it's just a suggestion.

Great breakfast and clean well designed room

This place was amazing the staff really friendly nothing too much a problem for them. The atmosphere is so chilled and wellcoming its warming and inviting and they treat you like an individual rather than just another customer. i arrived starving needing food late at 5pm, they accomadated me at 5.30 pm sooo grateful. as In the village places dident open till 7pm. Lovely touches personnal name plaque on the table, plenty of goodies in the room the resturant was beautiful . with a roaring fire. and importantly all the food is freshly made top class. I cant say a bad thing about my stay , im honoured to have experienced living in the house of Alfred Russel Wallace from all those years ago,,,.Spring time im back!

There was nothing I didn't like

Lovely room, great food and very attentive staff.

Little difficult to actually talk over the phone to a member of staff. An issue on booking needed a quick response but unable to get anyone to answer the phone. Otherwise really good experience.

From first entering we got a very warm welcome from a lovely young lady and it didn't stop there. Food was delicious and Pina colada was divine. Another young lady who served us was very polite and courteous. Guy who served drinks went above and beyond ? ?the chef was amazing ? Room was stunning very clean and everything there what we needed. Throughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back again soon. Well done everyone involved in this establishment if we could give more than 5 stars we would. Thankyou

We stayed at the Greyound their sister pub, as the Alfred Wallace had problems with a leak. We received excellent communication and service and money off our evening meal. Stunning property to relax and unwind, there were special touches such as welsh cakes and your name welcoming you to breakfast. Great staff, friendly and helpful

Poor communication.

Communication was very poor. I didn’t get replies to my messages. We were moved to an alternative hotel they left a voicemail but didn’t try to call back or message. The alternative wasn’t great to say the least.
