The Evenlode Rooms at Firehouse Oxford

The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-equippedThe Firehouse restaurant and bar is a real highlight — delicious BBQ-style dishes, a great choice of drinks and a lively but welcoming atmosphere.

Friendly staff had a nice bedroom which was very comfortable

Quite noisy from traffic and loud music playing . Bed could have been it bit bigger . Bathroom quite small so little room to move

Location

There is a drainage issue. We told it would be fixed but it wasn’t. Had to swap rooms and was compensated which was fair. The site has no onsite reception team. So reporting issues is a phone call.New room had occasional drainage smell but that might be to do with the weather and age of the building.

Warm welcome, cozy atmosphere, good value, clean tidy professional but relaxing environment.

Good location by the main A40.

The pub is very popular, so it is quite noisy, music on late etc.They do not do breakfast, which is not indicated anywhere, a self service coffee and tea machine plus some croissants in the bar would fix this.There were a few small snags in the room, but nothing worth listening here.

Nice in pics and nicely designed but needed some tlc now(Carpets felt dirty Had to open windows and put on fan as room was so hot No air con Bathroom was ok but grout need to be cleaned / scrubbed )

The lock on the hotel door was broken, which led to me being locked out on my first night. Luckily, my partner was inside and could open it from there, however on the second day we were both out, so I had to contact the hotel to fix it, otherwise we would be locked out overnight. The bathroom flooded when you used the shower, and also let off a strong sewage smell. Also, we were unable to control the radiator from our room - it was sweltering hot when we went to bed, but the radiator turned off overnight and it was freezing in the morning.

Rooms need double glazed windows. Too much road noise from the A40

Food was lovely as were the staff. Location to where we were visiting was great.

No breakfast but knew that in advance.Main showerhead (not the detachable one) needed a good clean, had mold on it as did a few of the shower tiles. Bleach would get rid of it easily.More Christmas decorations!!Overall stay was nice.

Lovely room, comfortable beds, plenty of parking and great restaurant/bar too- the food was lovely!

This wasn’t a problem for us as we were awake but it’s fairly noisy until 11 when the restaurant and bar close and staff arrive from 8 to start cleaning.

Very convenient location and perfect stopping point for our trip to the Cotswolds.

Restaurant was average

What I had not appreciated was that there was no breakfast available. But the evening meal was excellent.

When I left there was noone to say did you enjoy your stay. I just left the key on the side as instructed by the cleaner.

No warm water at all. Doors super noisy

The room and ensuite was superb, clean, nicely decorated, warm.

Directly above the bed is a fire water sprinkler, on the far side of it, it had a tiny power source light that could be seen in daylight (NOT A PROBLEM) During darkness there were flashing lights to the left and right on the sprinkler, flashing approx every 10 seconds. We do not know if work was still being done overnight, from 11 o'clock until 5.30 in the morning there were continuous drilling sounds. Very disappointed.

Clean, comfortable beds, great shower, good sized room and good value.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar and restaurant were clean. The food was well presented and tasted great.The owners helped us to get to a wedding on time!
