- It was very quiet and comfortable. The shower and and bathroom very well good. Heating great and lots of space. We liked the abundance of electric sockets.
Cons -
- Nothing, except perhaps some traffic noise which you can’t do much about.
- The evening restaurant menu could be larger
- No hairdryer in room. Restaurant breakfast manager a bit grumpy (but may have just been his 'Yorkshire charm'!!)

The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The room was clean and bright. Breakfast portions were generous and clearly are cooked to order.
The evening restaurant menu could be larger

Breakfast was of amazing quality — and the food was ‘super hot’ !Car parking was excellent — and very spacious. Two EV Chargers were also installed.
Internet could have been faster — but was adequate.
People were friendly and the location was nice
the pillow needed to be firmer
Excellent staff friendly and had time to chat not just hand out the keys Room and restaurant very well equipped
Friendly and helpful staff, great food and area was quite and relaxing yet not too far from Central. Overall it's a good experience we are planning to visit York soon and will book this hotel again.
In the morning the door is dripping of water, condensation and few times we struggled to open the door to go in and out that needed looking at. ?
The breakfast was very nice. Always came out very quickly and was piping hot. My daughter was hoping for pastries but I explained to her that it wasn’t a hotel and having hot food would be much nicer than pastries. My bed was actually really comfortable and I managed to sleep pretty well which isn’t always the case on a single bed.
There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. I think you have to go with the expectation that it’s a very basic room possibly a bit tired if I’m honest. However it was very clean and didn’t smell upon arrival. The bathroom was very modern with an excellent shower. The main road to York is exceptionally busy so you need to keep the bathroom door closed otherwise you’d hear the road noise. There were other rooms which weren’t backing onto the road so they may have less noise. The staff were all very nice, friendly and genuine. I’d be very happy to stay at the motel again.
Great place to stay. Nice rooms, excellent facilities, easy parking and really great food.
Having a lodge gave you space, great shower, warm
Room was clean and comfortable, although the mirror above the dressing table was positioned so high that it was impossible for my wife to use when sitting down to do her hair. I had to remove it from the wall. Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast area soulless. Can't imagine how on Tripadvisor people have said it's their favourite place to stay and eat.
Good location. Good size. Easy access with plenty parking. Had everything as needed in a basic room. Main building closed for Xmas so can’t comment on those facilities.
Loo roll.
The owners and staff were fantastic, super friendly and polite. Fantastic food, good bar, very friendly and accommodating. Top marks from me?
Friendly. Welcoming. Helpful. Fab breakfast
Welcoming staff, very clean, warm comfortable. Great breakfast.
Everything was very good except the breakfast tea/coffee - see below. had one of the new rooms and it was very clean, lovely and warm and the bathroom was very nice with an excellent shower.
The breakfast tea/coffee was make your own and the hot water is never hot enough to make it taste nice or enjoyable....like so many hotels now days!
We have stayed before. Staff are excellent; breakfasts outstanding; rooms clean and well stopped with plenty of parking spaces.
