All was ok, except for the bar menu
We've stayed there before and we thought the bar menu wasn't very good then. They've not changed it since then so maybe they need to make some changes with that. Otherwise everything else was great
Hit and miss.
We tried to get a drink from the bar at 21:00 only to be told it was closed. We went to get food the next night to be told the restaurant was fully booked at no point had we been told we were required to book in advance , we booked our stay 6 weeks in advance.
The food servings are MASSIVE and delicious!!! The service is friendly and superb and the cosy, clean, comfortable accommodation, bar and dining areas are fantastic. We loved everything about it!
Only a minor unexpected thing (which we now expect in these gorgeous little pubs) was carrying our bags up several flights of stairs. They do offer to help, which proves again, how awesome it is.
Location was good, easy parking. Food was exceptional, some of the best. Staff were really good.
Gas meter hadn't been topped up before our stay, so we had no heating overnight and no hot water in the morning. Wifi didn't work on the third floor where our apartment was.
Staff were really friendly, food was good and the location was spot on. Staff on Sunday were fantastic
Staff Saturday afternoon, night, were more interested in vaping and chatting amongst themselves than attending the bar or clearing dirty tables.
Room was well appointed. Very friendly and accomodating staff.Excellent choice of food both in evening and at Breakfast.Would certainly return here in the future.
No Issues with the Hotel.
Staff were amazing Complimentary Breakfast was beautiful
Dinner was tad expensiveRoom 5 in need of new mattresses Made a Four in a Bed joke about finding hairs in the room then actually found some in the bathroom
Breakfast was good.
The bed was to firm. But that's a personal thing for me. Everything else was fine. Great bar down stairs.
The staff were so friendly and accomodating. Great value for money and food was gorgeous. Will definitely be back
Great location and a comfortable traditional-style base for exploring this corner of Northumberland
Staff repeating the words 'No Problem' without even making eye contact. After a while it became a little grating.Decor could do with a refresh
Location to the train station and right in the heart of the village, friendly staff and locals, good breakfast and dog friendly
Very convenient location in the middle of the town. Our bedroom was comfortable and cozy.We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were all very nice.
I can't think of anything
Lovely old building, generally well kept. Clean.
We were there to visit family. Barmaid decided to shout last orders at 9.04p.m. When we asked why, she said she didn’t want to be out too late and wanted to get home to her family. Suggested, despite us being elderly, that we went out into a dark, wet night to find somewhere else to sit. We didn’t want to do that. Thus our time with our family was cut short. Because we had our little dog with us, who is extremely well behaved, we couldn’t sit in the dining area for breakfast and, instead, were put into a cold bar which was being cleaned. All in all, not a happy guest.
The breakfast was very good the menu wasn’t extensive but you could order what you liked outside the menu.
Breakfast was a good start. Location brilliant for Hadrian's Wall.
Chef abandoned restaurant after we'd waited 30minutes. Our bedroom heater was dangerously hot to touch, too hot for sleeping and unadjustable.
It is a cute, very old building. The staff, for breakfast and dinner, couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful.
The room was small. There was only one available outlet, and it wasn't by the bed. There were no shelves, or surfaces to put toiletries in the bathroom. I had to drag over a bedside table to use nearer the bathroom.
Streaky bacon was nearly always hard, some times the fried eggs were hard
Temperature in room too warm so left windows open
