The view we had from our bedroom was like a side ally terrible but room was comfortable clean and cosy
We asked for a sea view and we did get an excellent view. Bathroom spotlessly clean and modern.
Room itself was bit shabby and very dated. We had been warned it was a bit difficult to get to though, and that was an understatement. Had a terrible meal in the hotel restaurant - food piled high but poor quality. Salmon in couscous was tasteless and served wrong side up. Burger had about an inch-thick slab of cheese on top of it and tasted very strange. Maybe it was because the hotel was so full with Mother's Day. Breakfast was fine however.
Staff exceptional food really high quantity just a beautiful venue
Location was perfect Room basic but OK for the price
Food was disappointing. Bacon under done at breakfast Liver pate served with thick wheaten toast Usually comes with thin white toast?Steak lovely but very greasy chips
Staff were lovely. Dinner was beautiful and they let us sit without a reservation which was very good of them! The room was quirky, tricky to find also as there are so many doors!!! Was fun after a glass of wine remembering which way to go!
The only negative was the bathroom! There was a few suspect looking hairs on the floor, other than that the room was clean and tidy!
Bathroom was not up to standard cleanliness poor. Looked grubby, behind taps in bath not cleaned overall disappointed. Also nobody in reception to meet us and proceeded to tell they would match the price but, had already contacted them directly and they were more expensive. Diffently would not pay £140 to stay there again. To finish food good in restaurant, service good but the bar was dead. We ended up going elsewhere for a bit of lively music on our night out.

We have stayed here now a few times, and it is absolutely amazing. The sea view from our room was amazing. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was all lovely. The staff are very helpful and everything was very efficient. Breakfast was beautiful. We got checked in very quickly, and everything was explained really well. We will definitely be back.
We couldn't fault this hotel. Everything was lovely from start to finish.

Absolutely brilliant Food / cocktails / comfy bed / spacious room
Needs some bathroom refurbishment / more updates tv etc in room
No complaints with this hotel friendly staff.. very clean, food is fabulous..
The price is very high for a night stay,, it’s hard to come around any kind of a deal
It’s location , staff , friendly
It’s bit dated in decor
Really friendly staff, great location, food was fantastic.
If I was to fault the property it would be that the windows in the room aren’t great at keeping the noise out from the road below, it certainly didn’t spoil my stay though.
Staff, restaurant
Room 115! The window is nearly completely blocked by a large air extraction machine from the kitchen. There is NO view but the real issues the noise. The room was stuffy but opening the window allowed way too much noise. Even having the window closed the noise was problematic. Took me hours to get to sleep. Very disappointed with the room. Unfortunately I turned the TV on when I first got to the room and was not aware of the noise until I went to bed and too much of a hassle to change rooms.
right beside carlingford Lough amazing scenry close to shops and restraunts
no complaints here room comfy and clean staff very competent service excellent
We arrived a bit early but we got a warm welcome and left our bags behind reception, and shown to the bar. We had a quick drink then notified when our room was ready. The room was large and nicely furnished. It had a large bathroom with a bath, and shower over it. All clean and fresh. The staff in the bar were very good with a great pint of Guinness served up.We had booked dinner and the food was excellent, with most of the service very good.We had a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed then down for breakfast. Good service again from the guy with the big beard (didn't get his name) but he was great. Good food and service. We really enjoyed our stay in the Whistledown. Will be back. :)
During dinner my partner requested a spoon to help with the spaghetti. (should have been there)The waitress went to get it and when she came back, she threw it down on the table next to me. and walked off. Could have been a bit more polite and not so grumpy. She continued to have a "fed up" look for the rest of our meal, but the other staff were wonderful, and somewhat made up fo it.
Lovely staff nothing too much trouble. Good food and excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds and clean rooms.
Poor bathrooms. First bathroom had an illegal shaver docket almost on top of the sink and the loo didn’t flush well. Second bathroom no hot water in the morning Both need the grouting and calling looking at around baths as they look awful.
I loved the waterview room, great restaurant lovely staff. Fabulous breakfast.
I've been before and love everything about the place, Breakfast was top class
The only thing what is negative is parking, no car park, doesn't bother me as there is plenty of places to park on the street but if you were disabled it could be a problem
