- Food
- Great room comfortable bed brilliant range of tea and coffees, the biscuit was a nice touch. Loved the animals and close proximity to some brilliant walks in the peaks. Remote location was nice.
- Excellent staff, good food and generous portions
Cons -
- No coat hooks, or coffee machine however that is me being slightly picky. Food was good however £10 for a dessert was out of our reach and £30 for a bottle of wine was on the steep side…
- Overly child friendly for those without children. Bit too noisy for us. Breakfast was very good although the fire should have been lit as A. it was a little cool and B. it's the atmosphere that visitors expect. (Not in the evening when the pub is full like NY day as it would have been too warm)
- Staff came off a little blunt but we're fine in the evening.

Beds, accommodation, pub, food
Staff came off a little blunt but we're fine in the evening.
Loved the friendliness of the happy staff. Creative pretty grounds with many pretty places to sit and also watch some of the animals. We were stopping over and enjoyed having a cosy pub restaurant hotel and grounds in a lovely rural setting. Our bedroom was very spacious
The food at the inn was absolutely superb. We both had steaks and they were cooked to perfection. The cooked breakfast was excellent. It is also a great place to take children to
The only thing i would have liked was a bit more fruit at breakfast but otherwise it was perfect
Loved the shepherds hut, was very cozy and great to come back to after lazing at the pub. Breakfast was also very good.
The only thing missing was milk for coffee and tea in the morning. Otherwise was great.
Super lovely stay in a comfortable and clean room. Great food and amazing breakfast. The stuff had been very freindly.
Brilliant food and service. The facilities were excellent such a beautiful setting. The food was excellent value for money, large portions and a wide range of options to choose from. Good selection of wines to compliment the food. The animals were a nice touch outside, the goats made our stay they were very funny to watch. The room itself was a shepards hut and had everything we needed, the space had been utilised well so it didn’t feel too cramped. Also as it was quite close to the beer garden we didn’t feel uncomfortable, the hut was also sound proofed inside.
There was an extremely strong smell of sewage in some parts of the property, and parking was an absolute nightmare when we arrived on a sunny day.
Staff were all friendly. Easy check in, lovely room, with comfortable bed and doors that open out onto a private balcony area. Nice bar with large outside area. Picturesque setting by a stream, with mill wheel outside my room. Plenty of parking. There was a screen in the bar, with several suggestions of local places to see. Breakfast was very nice. I opted for the small breakfast and there was plenty of it
While the room was lovely and clean, the balcony area wasn't! There was a table and some chairs, that would have been nice to sit in, as it was a warm night, but they, along with the railings were dirty and covered in cobwebs. It was a shame, because if clean, the balcony, overlooking the stream, with the mill wheel and with several carp in it, would have been a lovely area to relax
Excellent location dog friendly great food
Everything. Was beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff very friendly
stayed in room 1, a large twin room overlooking the river with a balcony. (can be a double). clean, good sized bathroom, lovely hot shower. The standard of food is brilliant, locally sourced produce, good quality and huge but really well presented portions. The staff are really friendly and welcoming.lots of opportunity for walks in the local area or a short drive away. lovely waking up to the sounds of local wildlife. We arrived on a sunny Sunday and the pub was very busy but given the quality of food and play area for kids, it's totally understandable to see why it's so popular. managed to get a table for food despite how busy it was.
Friendly. Nice size apartment. Interesting. All people and dogs included. Restaurant good portions. Happy staff. Open fire. Animals In the grounds. Good value for money.
Sofa in apt very grubby needs a good clean. No iron in apartment.
Super friendly service, great food and a beautiful location
Great location for walking and exploring the High Peak area. Loved the option of the apartment to have facilities for making up packed lunches. The pub is really welcoming with friendly staff, and a great beer garden and plenty of animals.
Nothing - was all good
Beautiful room v spacious and stunning location
Bathroom need updating
Location
Good value and staff friendly No problems
Excellent quality food. Good location for exploring the Peak District. Great facilities for children with two play areas, plus farm animals and pygmy goats. Good atmosphere in the pub. Good range of accommodation with mix of apartments, rooms and huts.
Blinds in bedroom don't offer much darkness in early evening and mornings.Would have been good for cot bed to be set-up on arrival, but resolved quickly with helpful staff.
