- Lovely room, lovely bar and great food. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Comfortable rooms, good parking, friendly staff, good breakfast
Cons -
- The room was somewhat drab and the beds and furniture were a bit worn. The building has charm, but appeared to be somewhat past its prime.
- Problems with electricity supply to our room. Lights not working on entry. Was fixed but had to call on staff a few times as had repeated problems. They did deal with it each time quickly but we weren’t able to use kettle or heater during our stay for fear of losing lights again.
- Not much, the room was slightly dated and the bed was not the comfiest but overall nothing was bad.

Staff were so friendly and welcoming, some of the best hospitality I've had in a long time.

It's a great place to make your base if you want to explore the Cotswolds, with its picturesque villages and rolling hills. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are just a few minutes away on the road to Oxford. The charming town of Chipping Norton is also close by, but in the opposite direction. There's no need to worry about breakfast or dinner, as the Duke offers more than decent food to travelers and locals alike. My room was cozy, and the staff are helpful and accommodating.
Nothing to report.
Love the location, it's on a main road but it's not busy abs the rooms are set right back facing the fields. Staff superb - an uncommon find these days. We will be back!
Nothing!
Staff were lovely, very helpful. The room was big and the bed v comfy.Breakfast was good and it was very accessible with lots of car parking.Short drive to Woodstock and other cotswold villages like Charlbury
Really lovely stay, staff were very helpful and welcoming. I loved the rooms and the mocktail made by one of the guys there was delicious and so was the breakfast. Definitely come back soon! Thank you
Convenient location for Blenheim palace trip. Easy to find. Quiet and comfortable room. Fabulous food and service.
The property is in an excellent location and staff were very welcoming. The room was very clean. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable.
It was cold when we visited (-1 degree Celsius). I would have liked the room and bathroom to be a touch warmer as the cold air was coming in through the gap between the door and the floor.
Everything was wonderful. Nick, who seemed to be in charge looked after us extremely well. All staff were great. Food was delicious. Rooms lovely. I would recommend the pub to anybody looking for a place to stay in Woodstock

Comfortable, reasonably price, lovely staff and very very good food.
The twin room was clean, well lit, warm and the bed very comfortable. The shower was powerful and the towels soft and fluffy. The breakfast choice catered for all and was well cooked. The lady at breakfast was very welcoming and attentive. It was close to Blenheim Palace with a bus stop right out side. We would highly recommend a stay here.
The property was spotless, comfortable and the staff were so attentive and friendly. The breakfast the next day was fab and Suzie who looked after us was amazing. Highly recommend a stay here.
There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
It’s character and charm. The warm welcome we received and the very nice room. Very comfortable bed.
There was nothing we did not like.
Very clean and comfortable. Excellent food and very friendly and polite staff.
The room was very spacious & comfortable.
The thin walls within the rooms & hearing other guests snoring.
Location to the event we were attending
Rooms were in a separate external building, motel style up metal staircase - not the easiest access when carrying luggage.
It was a very warm and welcoming pub when we arrived on a wet afternoon. The room was beautifully presented with a very comfortable bed and nice facilities.Dinner was excellent with a good choice on the menu and an equally good breakfast in the morning. It's in the perfect position if you're visiting Blenheim Palace.
The staff are amazing. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were great.
It didn't stop raining!
