Cons -
- Small car park, but managed to park nearby
- Would have liked a shower, breakfast and parking,
- Our rooms were cold. The sash windows didn’t close completely and the central heating wasn’t turned on. We were provided with an electric heater and added the throw to the bed.

Very friendly staff. Great food and cocktails.
A lovely quant place to stay in the Cotswolds. Loved the decor. My particular room was huge with a seemingly newly renovated bathroom which might have been the best part. Great food from the restaurant and a nice little pub downstairs.
If I had to say a couple things.... They did not have a hairdryer in the room, the receptionist told me upon check out that they had extras but I wasn't aware of that when I needed it. In my particular room the very top room upstairs .... The emergency exit sign was at the top of the stairs right next to the bed with a big green sign... I had some trouble sleeping cause the sign was so bright, A table top fan in the room would have been a plus as well. But overall really nice stay and I would still recommend it!
Great location, nice room.
I arrived early and they were not prepared to look after my bags, so I had to retreat to another pub for an hour until I was able to check in.
The location was excellent for visiting the local area. Our room was a little difficult to access with our suitcases-up a windy staircase with no elevator. There was a claw foot bathtub but no stand up shower. Our room was kept very clean and we had fresh towels daily.
We would have preferred a stand up shower and a room on a lower floor that provided easier access to our room.
We loved the historic factor of the hotel. Our room was out back and upstairs. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff answered any and all questions we had about the town, parking, etc.
Room had everything we neededStaff very attentive from beginning to endFood was amazing!
Town centre location Downstairs refurbNew bathroom excellent showerGoodie bag for dog
Lamp above bed kept banging head on itSome lightbulbs were out Lots of cobwebs Very hot could of done with a fan
Wonderful location in the heart of Burford, a vibrant Cotswolds town where I've stayed a number of times.
The Location is excellent.
There were spider webs in the bathroom and light dust on all the furniture tops. The kettle needs cleaning. There is no shower curtain/door for the bathtub leaving zero privacyThere is no property parking available you need park on the high street or park at Guildenford car park which is 5mins walk(0.3 mi)
Room was nice and spacious, location was great, central to the town, staff were very helpful and friendly and abliging.
We thought the room and the refreshment articles would be cleaned and replenished but they weren't, another couple of hangers would have been nice, but on the whole all was fine.
I love burford and it's a beautiful village unfortunately we picked the wrong place to stay looked amazing on photo but was a proper let down
It's smelt of damp the curtains were hanging off as soon as you opened the door. The bath overflow leaking hence the tamp smell . No food in pub only breakfast. And not a full stocked bar
The bed was comfy. plenty of tea/coffee in room. breakfast was good although service slow and didn't get any toast.
window wouldn't stay open, had to prop it ajar with a can of hairspray. handrail fell off the wall in the bathroom. radiator in bedroom didn't work.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely location. Bathroom was very nice with an excellent shower. 10% discount at Burford House was unexepected and the meal there was superb.
Room was a bit old and tired but it's an old pub so that's what you expect.
Location right on the high street, perfect! Our room was clean and had lovely staff working there. The breakfast was, hot, delicious and plenty of it. The high street had many places to eat and drink. The lovely St John's church is close by too.
Parts of the building need a little tender care. The communal area/corridors need more attention to cleaning. As it's also a pub and used by many, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have any white wine on offer for our 2 overnight stays.
SHOCKING HOTEL.
Absolutely shocking hotel. The place was absolutely filthy, I ran my hand over things and my hand was covered in dust. Not exaggerating. Phoned reception staff to come and see state of room and they acted like they had no idea. Shower broken, hand on shower door broken too which they fixed but didn't help with anything else. Blind on window broken and chain and fittings left dangling, also as no coverings we had no privacy. We paid extra and chosen what we thought was the best room, we were in the osprey room, right next to the car park outside, both days we were woken up by the bin men or the hotel staff sorting thorough beer barrels really early in the morning.Had no option to go elsewhere everywhere was fully booked and the hotel had no rooms either. We chanced breakfast one morning and it was ok, bit on the greezy overdone side so left a lot of mine, service was rubbish the gentleman who was serving was miserable and slow, went missing a lot and when we finished our breakfast we left after waiting 10 minutes for him to clear our plates. Rubbish experience, lots of stuff broken but still left in room, I would highly not recommend this place. Needs shutting down and redoing. Cleaning team need to go and learn how to do their jobs properly too.
Lovely calm cottage room tucked just behind the high street!
Location great, staff friendly.
Couldn’t get parked, dated room not really as pictured, no plug sockets just extension lead, half the lights not working. Could hear guests under us snoring all night. Had the worst larger ever from the bar.
