    Pros +

    • Lovely staff. Delicious food. Comfy bed
    • Staff friendly nice breakfadt
    • Essential a good shower. The staff were friendly.

    Cons -

    • Lorry's turning outside the bedroom window due to houses being built over the road
    • Nothing not to like really but there was a power cut and there was no reply from the phone numbers to reassure us that it was a power cut.
    • Small rooms with very low height restrictions throughout as well. Due to the nature of the historic building this was also relevant in the public areas. Just something to be aware of when booking if you are tall....

Food excellent and also had a nice outside area plus SKY Sports available in part of the bar / restaurant area.

Quaint, characterful, clean room, comfortable beds, Great breakfast. Went to wedding reception. Very good buffet.

Too many steps not particularly disabled friendly.shower over bath too awkward for disabled. Expensive crisps £1.65 a packet!

    Some good features

It had been modernised to such an extent it lacked convivial comfort. It was V cold temp wise. No heating on anywhere all the time we were there and a dangerous free standing heater in my v small bedroom ( health and safety ) No convenient place to plug in the huge kettle. A damp bedroom wall ( gamekeepers room ) which caused the room to feel damp. Strong smell of vomit in the corridor which pervaded the room. The dining area was exceptionally cold. The waiting staff poor disappeared. No where to sit & relax in/ near the eating area. All seating high shiny v high bar stools. I have a spine problem asked for alternative seating … sorry we don’t have any. Open to elements Courtyard to and from dining area from guest bedrooms … dangerous partic for breakfast when we had to negotiate dislodged heavy garden furniture. Customer empathy and care was missing from this psuedo “ we care, you’ll have the best time” establishment! Go to a Premier Inn where they don’t pretend, where it’s clean an safe, with good heating & facilities and you know what to expect.

The location was ideal for our weekend visit The Provence room was lovely exceptional bathroom good facilities and a comfy bed

Ooh mugs in the bedroom these wee Nespresso cups are no good for a brew

    Location

Not being informed prior to arrival that a wedding was taking place and kept awake by rowdy guests.

Quiet location , lovely warm friendly ambiance , helpfulness of staff

Bedroom was lovely , but one wall needed decorating as had what looked like a small damp stain on it

    9Longjaloux-BallPosted on: 8-15-2024

Exactly what I needed and hoped for. Room was basic but very clean and well maintained. Very much appreciated the free upgrade to a double. Lovely, quiet location. Breakfast was excellent!

    9JohnPosted on: 8-12-2024

Very nice setting and ambiance. Breakfast service and quality very good. Room and buildings, general facilities excellent.

Place is mostly a wedding venue, less of a pub / gyest house. Other guests / drinkers not made welcome in the nice inner courtyard, Sent across the road to a smaller outside drinking area. This may be less of an issue for other times in the week.Coffee not very nice - need to change suppliers.

The location and building is stunning. Room was quite small but had everything we needed.

The shower was too low for my partner. The mattress was very soft and could feel springs

I paid for a single room and due to they weren't busy they upgraded me to a double room. also they had a wedding function on and moved me to a room that was furthest away so I wasn't disturbed by the noise.

    10JaynePosted on: 6-23-2024

Gorgeous little place, nice and quiet even though can be a lot of traffic

Mattress bit old and lumpy No bar for a night cap ? Because of wedding

    10JoannePosted on: 6-9-2024

    10JacquiPosted on: 6-9-2024

This is an excellent hotel. I would recommend it highly. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was gorgeous and being able to open the windows I had a great sleep. The breakfast was good and plenty of it.

    Nothing could have been better.

    9BenPosted on: 6-1-2024

The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic. The best part was the staff, so warm and friendly. It was a pleasure.

A little bit of noise quite late on because of a wedding party. No fault of the staff though, and the wedding guests appeared to be having a great night!
