Pros +
- The hotel is almost opposite the railway station and bus station, so is very easy to find. The hotel interior has a very high level of cleanliness, is very comfortable and the staff very polite and civil. However, it is an older building and no room, restaurant or bar can be accessed without negotiating several flights of steps and stairs, so if you have any mobility issues or cannot manage stairs it may be advisable to look elsewhere. In all other respects the hotel is very good indeed.
- Breakfast was good and staff pleasant
- The receptionist was pleasant and the central location. The breakfast was nice ..
Cons -
- The breakfast was very good for those who prefer the 'full-English', but for those who prefer a healthier 'continental' type breakfast, the selection was very meagre.
- Room was a bit smaller than expected and noisy on the morning with the kitchen fan blurring away
- The cups and spoons dirty in our room had not been washed from people before . People vaping in the bar and using bad language blowing in our face .

Location
If you are in a room at the front forget getting any sleep, the bar is open till 3pm then you have gangs of people shouting and singing on the fron until after 4pm. They really should have triple glazing not single glazing.
Perfect stay, room clean and comfortable.Lovely dinning room and breakfast was very good. All staff very welcoming and helpful. This was our second stay and will definitely stay again ?
- location was amazing right in the city centre - great value for money - great breakfast - room was perfect for me and my bf
- shower temp wouldn’t go up that high which isn’t a big deal, I just prefer a piping hot shower- room was quite small but again, my bf and me do not need a massive room so not a big deal! - a little thing but I wish they would’ve provided decaf tea bags in the room instead of just normal!
The location is great and the staff are lovely.
The rooms are very basic with uncomfortable beds and thin carpets. Although the room was clean, there were mould stains all along the shower seal. The windows are old and wooden so you could hear everything from outside. All in all it needs a major update and a deep clean. If this was around £50 cheaper I would have been less disappointed
Breakfasts were lovely. Like how the room was warm at night..liked it how the hotel and a pub is together. Staff were lovely
Great location
Clean friendly great breakfast
Location was great. Very clean. Awesome cooked breakfast. Friendly staff.
Nothing was good.
Rooms comfy and clean, modern and warm. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, location very central. If you want the buzz of the nightlife this is definitely a good choice and busy until the early hours. Staff were polite and helpful throughout our two day stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
It had everything live music, all sports channels, bar staff were very attentive. The breakfast was lovely better than the pictures on the web page. The rooms were really quiet and clean.
Location was great. Breakfast okay but cold, not much selection. Rooms basic but clean.
Do not advise anyone to stay on a weekend. Yes it tells you about live music/band/DJ on their website. But it doesn't say it so loud you can hear every word in your room and it goes on until 1.00am on a Friday and 3.00am on a Saturday. Got no sleep.
Group friday night
Too many steps for wifeBreakfast running out of food and utencils at all times during stay.
Clean , nice English breakfast , lovely staff , great location.
Only problem was the noise (music) from the bar until the early hours, but as we were on the first floor, we were told about this in an e mail when we booked.
Location was good. Near the train station
Many stairs to the 4th floor, we expected an en-suite room and didn't get one. The bed was small and uncomfortable , the room was small as well
Location fab . Breakfast lovely staff lovely. Shower not great
Lovely location areas x walking easy front of everything

Breakfast are okay but we seat on tables are greasy x sticky on tables we disappointed there wasn't enough cereals it empty Baked beans run out of order it left very little very dry x sausages wasn't good taste we slept wasn't very well keep us wake every hour cos there music loud x we feeling vibration in our body in bed all night during nights so can't sleep very well very tired in the morning but downstairs bar lounge was lovely comfort for drinks
