- We were aware that the pub had music and karaoke until late but the ear plugs provided didn't really do anything to dull the noise if you wanted to go to bed before it all finished.
- The bed was uncomfortable unable to sleep pillow S were old two were stuffed in one pillow case no hygiene covers like bricks sorry we left after one night couldn’t face another sleepiness night Nice pub but beds need replacing

No breakfast, room very cramped
Room very tired headboard all scratched paint peeling one bedside table had to squeeze round the bed to go to bathroom
Nice clean rooms great location and car parking
Noisy at 8am changing the barrels in the pub down stairs
The shower
The noiseThe difficulty with car parkingUnhelpful staffRelatively expensive for what we gotThe horrible coffee machine
Great location with views of the river and Abbey. Room was compact but in a good position with private parking provided you did not mind being above a lively pub.
Was what we expected
Loved location and that you can park at the location, view from room was lovely however room itself was a tad small but they allow pets and don’t charge so that’s a bonus
Loved the room we were staying in, looked at the harbour with the boats in, so pretty.
Everything was lovely apart from the evening entertainment at the pub, it was very load but the staff did worn us that there was music on till 12 am that night.
Great location right on the harbour front, if your wanting an early night and it's the weekend that's not happening, ear plugs are supplied but it's a room above a pub so what would you expect? 1st floor rooms so the folks on the top deck of the tour bus will smile directly at you, but the room was nice, it wasn't expensive and the staff were lovely. Oh and the car park is fun to find and if you have anything much bigger than a focus it's a tight fit.
Proprietor was very nice and helpful however prior knowledge of how to get to the car park would have been helpful. Very noisy, party upstairs the first night and dray delivery at 7:00 the 2nd morning
I needed a one night stay in Whitby reasonably close to the railway station and the Buck Inn was just what I was looking for. The room was very clean and comfortable and the view over the river and harbour was excellent. It was a midweek night so only a little noise from the pub and that finished around 23.00.
The room was tiny and scruffy wall paper scufffed and head board pealing with no room to walk around the bed. The noise from the pub below was terrible and could be heard over the television. If you want to sleep before 1 am don’t stop here karaoke on until 12.30 and only got quiet when the pub shut at 1am . Curtains did not fit the window and it you are smaller than 6ft you have no chance of using the only mirror in the bathroom.
Telephone number for hotel was from previous landlady so no one to call, got to buck inn bar staff gave us a key , no welcome at all , central heating on all night , people above walking about and on mobile all night echoing into the room . Shower trim needs cleaned with bleach as it has mould. Location lovely but overall disappointed. Fire sign on bedroom someone has scored out info and written numbers can hardly see health an safety issue
Inexpensive room above a pub in an exceptional position by the harbour. Staff very obliging, room small but clean, well maintained and comfortable. Pub noisy. We were there Thursday, Friday and Saturday have live music/karaoke. Extremely close to a wide range of excellent eating places.
Nice one night break (Monday) with view over the harbour.
car park rather tight (but thats probably my driving).
The location and the staff were helpful and friendly
The rooms need updating
Location was good .view was nice
Found sock on floor ,bedside table had coffee stain from cup and the bed was small . Room altogether a bit tight for space
Location is good, staff friendly.
Room very small and noisy, the website stated it was noisy on a Friday and Saturday night due to karaoke and music in the bar. But it was noisy on both nights we stayed. Monday and Tuesday.
