About

The Seacliffe guest house provides 4-star guest accommodations overlooking the beach and harbor entrance. The center of Whitby is a 15-minute stroll away along the seafront and the wild hiking country of the North York Moors National Park is a short drive inland. The Seacliffe is located less than 5 minutes’ drive from Whitby’s seafront golf course, and the town’s museums, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. With its own private car park, The Seacliffe can accommodate guests looking for a quiet seaside retreat but also those more interested in exploring further afield. The bedrooms with attached bathroom are comfortably furnished and feature a TV and hospitality tray. Wireless internet access is available in all of the rooms and guests are welcome to relax in the wood-beamed bar area or the patio garden to the rear.

    Cons -

    • Being in a annexe also there were no taxi cards or any information booklets, these were all in the main building.Having to walk to breakfast when it was pouring with rain. Our room was nice,it had a great view but there were silly things like the curtain
    • Room was rather cramped, due to being in the roof hence sloping walls / roof
    • The check-in You have to check in before 10pm And I came from far away so I was little bit worried about that .

Breakfast was lovely and well cooked, the bar was great and just to chill, the staff was great, the room was spot on all i needed for my stay, room clean and fresh on arrival, overall a great place and will visit again, lovely woman on reception when i arrived and was booked in promptly due to issues will booking name, had a lovely chat with her when serving me at the bar during evening when quiet, great lady.

only issue but not a big one is a little far out but the walk down to harbour has some wonderful views, could always take car as you get a parking voucher.

The room was exceptional the bed was so comfy had a great nights sleep. Lovely location and staff were very friendly. The only down side was the cooked English breakfast it was very tasteless and seemed to have been warmed up . Apart from that everything was great and would stay again.

    10MarkPosted on: 2-11-2025

Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Great breakfast, doing vegan options for my wife was no trouble at all. Lovely clean room, extremely comfortable bed and an amazing sea view. Binoculars in the room are a nice touch.

    9HazeltinePosted on: 1-4-2025

We like the location, but it is a walk into town. Loved that the put binoculars in the room as we had a sea view.

The mattress was too soft for me, but that's just my preference.

    6TonyPosted on: 1-4-2025

    Location was good

Arrived there and no staff available at check in, no one answered the phone.During storm Darrah there was a lot of noise from loose roof fittings which disturbed my sleep throughout the night.
