- Superb location, great views, clean and spacious, very helpful and friendly staff.
Cons -
- Heating issues on 2cd night of stay. Was freezing and number for reception didnt work so couldn't notify anyone. Restaurant made error with my meal so I couldn't eat it due to not meeting my dietary needs (intolerances) despite asking and checking multiple times.... though they didnt charge me for the meal or my drink which was a nice gesture.Pool was cold and changing rooms unclean.... and very 'masculine' intimidating vibe which I didnt enjoy so didnt stay long or use again during my stay.
- View from my room overlooked stones on roof
- There is limited parking, which can be a be a bit frustrating. Especially in the rain! But there is parking available in the surrounding roads

A lovely hotel in a perfect location. Everything felt luxurious from the moment you check in until you leave.

Excellent location
Breakfast was absolute chaos, the room wasn’t cleaned properly after our second night and mould on the bay windows. It was listed as a luxury room, for the price I wish we had stayed somewhere else now. Parking was a nightmare as generally full, we had hot chocolates and coffees in the locker room which took over 30 minutes to make. Overall staff are friendly it’s just lacking someone actually steering the ship! I had a spa treatment while I was there which was average, it’s a nice spa area though. Overall overpriced for what you get, however beautiful location (shame about the block of flats that now dominate the sea views) We would return for the spa but not overnight stays.
Good location and facilities
Was not keen on the vegetarian hot breakfast
Room was nice, breakfast was nice when someone finally took an order
When we arrived there were no parking spaces. Very busy, mentioned about holding a space but the women had no idea when we arrived. Ended up parking down a side street and walking up in the rain. Nobody to show us where to go just got given the key. When we finally found it the room was nice. The next morning when we came down for breakfast we were told to look for an empty table rather than be seated and then we waited for 40 minutes to be spoken to about our order. Once we ordered we waited a further 20 minutes and by the time we had breakfast it was nearly checkout time so we had to rush. The food was barely warm either. We expected better service.
I stay in 100+ hotels per year with work in the UK and St Michael's Resort is definitely one of my favourites. You get a premium room/ facilities for a budget hotel price. The staff are beyond professional and are a credit to the establishment. Will definitely be booking again when I'm in the area and will advise my colleagues to do the same.
Nothing to dislike
Great hotel and location with a welcoming vibe.
It was a lovely stay and great room but the shower really let the stay down, the pressure was really weak to the point it trickled out at first and then stayed to kick in a little bit, very low pressure just made showering not enjoyable, I like staying at at 4/5 star hotel and having a great room and shower it was a little bit difficult to wash shampoo out of my hair
Location was good. The view was good.
The room we were in before requesting to move was tired albeit relatively new. It had a balcony that looked over the carpark and no bath. We moved to another room which had a bath and a view but was worn down in every respect. The double glazed units were blown in several areas, a great big stain on the carpet, paint chipped off the walls, dirty and worn product holders in the shower, shower screen components worn and mouldy, tiles mouldy, the bathroom bin covered in who knows what, no fridge, curtain hooks missing, wind whistling all night through old pvc window frames. We didn’t use the facilities or eat as we were too upset about the room. I have many more photographs but there is only room for 4 on here. Will send the rest via email.
Closeness to the beach, food was good
The trek across the carpark to my room, and steps, very small cups in room, might be ok for coffee but not big enough for tea.
The staff and main reception and bar/restaurant areas were really lovely and modern and very clean.
I didn’t realise when I booked that the spa wasn’t part of the package, this was only made clear in the email to confirm the stay, and the fact that once your there you cannot book into the spa as it is fully booked was very disappointing. I think a few slots should be kept available for people staying at the hotel. Also as our room was at the top of the hotel (with an amazing view I must say) the bathroom roof was leaking so was leaking on the floor, Other than this it was a lovely stay.
Excellent staff, very clean & delicious food
Nice friendly hotel. Staff very accommodating and food was great. Thermal spa was a great experience.
The service in the restaurant was slow at times but the food was always great. Advised the hotel it was a 50th birthday treat and though hubby may have been offered a complimentary drink but recieved a card. I thought for the cost of the stay this would of been a nice gesture.
Excellent position near seafront, Staff welcoming, our room( we had luxury) clean, spacious and comfortable bed , very nice bathroom with bath and a walk in shower. A very good breakfast selection , freshly cooked hot food.
It was a little misleading when booking that not all the spa /leisure facilities are actually included. The spa facilities in the main hotel are not included in the booking. The leisure facilities, in the beach house next door, are included and were very clean, have a good pool, steam room and sauna, though sauna was not working properly at the time. It was disappointing not being able to use the Hydration Pool, sea salt , rainforest Steam rooms and outside jacuzzi and saunas.
Comfortable, close to the beach and town. Good choice of facilities.
Great facilities, friendly staff. Very cosy hotel to sit and watch the waves from a distance.
Might just apply to us but the check in time is extremely late. 3.30pm wasn’t after driving 7hrs to get there for an overnight stay.
The Spa is fabulous.Staff are great. The close location to Gylly Beach is also fabulous.Food at Nourish restaurant is fresh and delicious.Breakfast Buffett provided plenty of choice.
The breakfast toast could have been better, we had eggs / mushrooms on watery soggy toast. Whilst the Buffett is lovely the bits you order from the kitchen are a little underwhelming, the full English was nothing special. The room was small , tight on space - literally one pace from bed to en suite - I was slightly disappointed with the room we were allocated, but the price we paid may of reflected where they positioned us.
Fabulous location and excellent facilities. The breakfast was well cooked with a great selection. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
My room was on the second floor but there was no lift (however, I was offered help with my luggage) so if you have mobility problems you should ask for a lower floor.
Comfortable bed, beautiful view and great staff
