Pros +
- location & ambience. good to have keys to room rather than plastic cards.
- Overall a Lovely time. Golf staff were ever so good.Areas of concern: hotel needs to train staff better. The younger Bar staff and even the Food and Bev Manager was woefully out of his depth when checking us into hotel following our very long arduous journey. When subbing for a fellow employee everyone needs to be ready to greet guests with a warm smile no matter what day or time it is. All he had to do was Welcome us and provide minor assistance. First, he wasn't at desk on arrival and we needed assistance with parking. Not well lit & crowded. Even though we gave advance notice of our approx arrival time he had a bit of an attitude as if helping at desk was beneath him....get with the program .. this is the hospitality industry! Never even asked if we needed help with our bags. He left them at the foot of the stairs. Thankfully noone tripped over them to our knowledge..Charging our Electric rental vehicle was a problem. Hotel needs to hold the company that services this more responsible. A few of us woke up to find Charging station failed. Terrible for the couple that needed to get to airport. Pool was very relaxing. Great calming music.
- The Hotel and Spa were lovely and as we expected them to be. The location and comfort of the facilities really was great. Although not a Golfer, it was great to sit on the terrace and watch. The staff in general were very engaging (as you would expect of a Hotel with this rating.
Cons -
- Would like to see a stronger balance sheet as too much dependence on the bank.

- Areas that I think could be improved is some of the Staffs engagement with us. In addition the room on the second day was not services. The request for servicing was initially ignored and when eventually serviced I was asked what I wanted them to do (I didn't feel that this was appropriate).A final point to note, is that the Bus stop is approximately half a mile away, along a very narrow road, I personally did not feel that this was safe to walk to.

The staff was very gracious and welcoming, even though it is a nicer hotel and we walked in wearing dirty hiking clothes and carrying backpacks from our Coast Path Trek! The room was very warm and comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. Also, robes! Dinner was delicious, if a little slow to come out, and breakfast was equally good. The package where both are included is a fantastic deal. The hotel web site has mention of a dress code, but I wore a collared shirt and sweater with my nice jeans and they had no problem with it. The walk up from the Helford Ferry took about 15 minutes, and it's all up hill.
Nothing, we loved our experience.
Food, staff and room was lovely
Hot tub wasn't working ☹️But still had a lovely stay
Lovely location and grounds, dinner was excellent.
Drinks were very expensive, sauna wasn't working during our stay.
Super venue, good pool, comfortable beds
Could have done with a fan as room very hot. Crib was supplied with a folded duvet and loose sheet covering rather than mattress or hard base.
The suite was nice. The golf was great. Breakfast was ok, but filling enough.
The drive from the West on A30 had us on a one lane, very small one lane, road for almost 7 miles. Terrifying! If you drive down from Falmouth it is much safer. No AC in the rooms.
The room was lovely. Well furnished, super soft linen, quiet and relaxing. A great location too. Highly recommend.
The pool area and hot tub are lovely. Never had such good views from a hot tub! Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Room was nice too.
Room a tad dated. Narrow roads to get there but that’s what you can expect in Cornwall! Would recommend :)
The grounds are lovely, it’s very quiet and the staff is friendly.
No complaints.
A lovely hotel, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, no iron or ironing board, however was possibly available if we required one. We only ate at the hotel 1 night on the terrace looking out over the golf course and the food was lovely. Excellent facilities with a pool and hot tub, there's gowns, flip flops and pool towels in the wardrobe. There was a safe in the wardrobe but no fridge. The entrance to the hotel is to the left of the hotel sign along a tree lined drive, which opens up to the hotel with a tennis court and car park further along to the right. The hotel is nestled among beautiful grounds, there's a pathway leading down to the private beach area, however not ideal for anyone with any mobility issues. We stayed here for 3 nights and the location was ideal as a base for visiting other areas of Cornwall and wasn't too far from Falmouth town and the Marina with the Maritime Museum, which is definitely worth visiting. There is a lift, however there are a few steps up to access where the lift is located and steps within the hotel to access the restaurant. The hotel was ideal for us and would definitely recommend.
The steps to access where the lift is located. The car park could do with being resurfaced as it has a very uneven surface.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Large bed. Peaceful room and surroundings.
Had to rinse out the bath before running one because it was all gritty. Probably cleaning products but it wasn't pleasant. Also wasn't clear what was included in the price e.g. swimming pool. Finally it was exceptionally expensive and you didn't get anything more than a B&B at a third of the cost.
Amazing rooms , breakfast , staff , location , stuff to do , pool , everything basically
I was upgraded and my room was top quality - clean, spacious and nicely appointed. Good breakfast, too.
Service in the bar/terrace was a bit iffy.
The room was large and had delightful views. Having food on the terrace was a really nice way to enjoy the evening. The staff were kind enough to help with the luggage. The gardens were a delight, and the walk through them down to the estuary was also special
Breakfast was expensive for what it was, and the service was slow. Meals in the restaurant were very expensive, so we ate on the terrace
Good size room. Clean facilities. Good breakfast. Beautiful gardens. Lovely hotel. Free EV charging is a massive benefit.
Unfortunately we were there for a funeral and didn't have enough time to enjoy the clearly very beautiful location. Wonderfully friendly and efficient check in and out service from Ottilie. Delicious breakfast!
My only small gripe was that I'd requested a twin room for my daughter and I and when we got into the room it was a double and not a twin, but it was a big bed and it was late and we were too tired to really care after about ten hours on the road!
From the moment we arrived, the welcome was of the highest standard. Our room was impeccable, spacious, spotlessly clean, and with a very nice view. For dinner, there are two excellent options: a four-course menu in the main restaurant or an à la carte menu on the terrace. My husband and I would especially like to highlight the outstanding service provided by Hamish, incredibly kind, professional, and discreet. As for breakfast, what can we say? Excellent quality, attentive service, and a clear dedication from the manager, Moreen. We will definitely be back.A great stopover for those on a road trip through Cornwall — perfect both as a base for exploring nearby towns and as a relaxing retreat on its own.
The hotel was secluded and off the beaten track. The gardens and grounds were well maintained, beautiful in fact. The swimming pool was just lovely. The room was spotlessly clean and modern. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately we had a rather noisy neighbour, who was clearly having relationship problems. We would like to have eaten more in the restaurant but would never have managed a four course meal. We wondered if two courses could be offered as an alternative option?
