Pros +
- Beautiful building. Great location. Really nice restaurant. High quality breakfasts. Peacocks!
- Lovely setting, beautiful grounds, great atmosphere, nice range of different rooms to eat, drink or relax in, excellent head waiter in the main restaurant, good breakfast and wonderful pool.
- Very friendly staff. Always on hand to help. Felt very nice to be there - even with kids.
Cons -
- The door from the staircase to the bedrooms needs to be changed to a soft close. We were in room 184 and everytime it closed, our bedroom door would rattle.
- As with a lot of hotels, a rather noisy party below our room, with people coming back to bed late and making noise but that feels pretty standard for a hotel and says more about the people than the hotel.
- The food and drink could have been better for price

The food and drink could have been better for price
Pendley manor is in a beautiful area. Seeing the peacocks walk around was a cherry on top. The food was superb, as were the staff. I stayed over night and the breakfast was lovely too. I would recommend it and I would visit again.
The only thing that let the place down a tiny bit was the bedroom. I stayed in room 253 and the window was so small that the room looked windowless. My room and bathroom had a weird smell (especially the bathroom) the smell was so bad, it gave my partner a headache and he left at 1am to sleep at home. When we flushed the toilet or someone near by was in their shower, my shower drain started making noises, like it was blocked. This could possibly be the reason for the bad smell?
Convenient location, lovely breakfast in the morning. Room service was a nice treat, my steak was cooked to perfection.
Our room wasn't great, we were basically put in the loft which the location was fine, however, it smelt badly of damp and mould, I also think we were located near the boiler or heating system, we had a loud humming noise during our stay that continued throughout the night, it was that loud we barely slept it kept us awake all night.
Friendly staff and lovely room. Overall a really great experience.
While the food was nice, I don’t think the quality matched the price paid. If charging those prices I would have expected a higher quality. But apart from that everything was great
My wife and I spent Valentines night and had a fantastic weekend, your staff went the extra mile which contributed to our stay. Highly recommend. Many thanks, Kind regards, Mr, Carlton Fitzpatrick.
The fact we left on Sunday!
Beautiful building and grounds
Service. On the first night we were told the restaurants was full but we could eat at the bar. The bar menu is awful. 2 hours later as we walked past the restaurant we only saw two people in there. Breakfast buffet food cold.
Great indoor pool.Room size was good for a family. Some of the staff were really friendly.
Room smelled a bit like there could’ve been a dog staying in there before us.Some of the staff didn’t seem too well trained.
Gorgeous building and interior decor of the shared spaces.Big room. Indoor pool was great at this time of the year.
We only stayed for 1 night and didn't have any meal there but there wasn't anything to point.
Absolutely brilliant place!Stylish, elegant and only 30 min away from London. Service is top.I had to work and was given a conference room for one hour!
Everything was great
Character property, bright good spec bedrooms, fine dining restaurant, spa and the breakfast room service was excellent and reasonably charged
We found the service to be a little disappointing: missing room service breakfast order menu and hair dryer in room, spa was open until 9pm but was told 7:30pm, ran out of slippers and robe when requested at reception, restaurant booking not actually booked when told it was (luckily had walk in availability), then chef cooked penne pasta instead of the ordered linguine pasta, etc. Also had a lots of families staying, kids were creating a lot of noise in hallway area.
Great staffing levels and all with great attitudes , peacocks !! Good sauna and steam rooms
Swimming pool water is very misty perhaps needs a new filter
The afternoon tea was lovely and it looked out on the garden where all the peacocks were. The peacocks were absolutely stunning and it was amazing to see them! Staff were really nice and friendly. The room was a good size and had a comfortable bed.
I didn't realise that there were so many rooms, thought it was a bit of a smaller hotel! Not really a con just my misinterpretation.
Location, Ambience, Leisure Facilities
Beautiful grounds , lovely seeing the peacocks up close.
Property needs updating its outdated we noticed to the armchairs were very old and dirty.Unfortunately, we had a very uncomfortable night due to the pillows. If I did come to stay again I would definitely be bringing my own.
Room service, pool, reception staff, grounds and dining room for breakfast
Everything was excellent with a lovely size room, superb cleanliness and excellent food. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the facilities were great.
Steam room
a) Disabled bathroom arrangement of sanitrary ware , very poor and questionable if it complies although there's plenty of space (see picture). It will be impossible to turn a wheelchair around the gap between the outer edge of the WC and WHB a) Entrance / reception area -understand, this is period property however no care for a reasonable disabled ramped accessb) Some aspects of the surroundsc) The so called restaurant seemed make-shift but no ambienced) We were forced to have an expensive set menu although there's a la carte , food was premade. We had to ask for additional bread roll after being given two tiny ones as none given with the soup which is bizarre e) The shower outside the steam room is a cheap Mira electric one and the controls do not workf) The bed in the wheelchair room was 'standard double' - one would expect at least a queen size to allow for adequate space
