- The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient! Allowing us to put our dinner and bar tab on our room bill was also an added helpful feature! Breakfast was tasty and a good way to start each day! This establishment is really an authentic old pub!
- Lovely, kind, helpful lady who helped me carry my boxes upstairs and back again.
- Easily accessible for people with mobility issues staff were extremely friendly, especially the Manager’s mum who is very very helpful and extremely friendly made us feel very welcome
Cons -
- The narrow winding stairwell from the ground to first floor was awkward with larger pieces of luggage and the hall lighting did not always come on when the hall button was pressed. Took a few minutes one morning to determine how to exit the building.
- Breakfast was a bit a average. Some fruit would have been nice.
- Couldn’t park directly at the place, but Parking was not too far away

Excellent location in Old Town for us to visit family & go to the park. Comfortable small room with a modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast with friendly staff.
The staff from the start to the end of the day is lovely. They always were smiling, chatting with you, all were very nice.Breakfast is great, you have several choices on the menu and all is good.I had a late check-in on my arrival, I was provided with a number to call beforehand. The landlord guided me through to get in my room. And they also had sent an email with all I needed anyway.Smooth as.Nice place, nice people, can't complain
Good food friendly staff clean and tidy bedrooms
The bed was incredibly comfortable
There was a quiz night and all tables were booked so unable to eat there, if I had been informed on check in I would not have minded.Good breakfast, bacon under cooked Limited tv channels
Bed was really comfortable. Shower was amazing. The staff serving breakfast were very helpful and rather amusing . Nice people.
The rain
I like the location, the staff were very friendly, and the food was quite good.
It would have been nicer if the bathroom was a bit more updated. The fan was super loud and the light was cold and insufficient. Also, the molding on the shower was crumbling not that big of a deal. Just not lovely to look at.
Location is excellent and on street parking is available within a short walk. Staff were lovely.
Breakfast was OK, not small or large. I felt the bacon had seen better days and mentioned this, but had the same the following day. The room was small, as was the bed. Clientele in the pub at night were a bit noisy. We were in the rear annex so noise wasn't a problem. But everything was very tired.
Very cosy pub. Great food and friendly staff. Nice location and clean rooms
Great pub in the heart of Hemel Hempsted. Attentive staff, great food and drink.
The bed was very comfortable, but it is small.
Brilliant location. We were upgraded from a twin to a family room for no extra costs. The breakfast was fantastic. We had great service from all the staff.
The stairs to our room were steep but that was okay for us. Our room was cold and we couldn't work put how to put the heating on
Large family room had so much room. Plus privacy with 2 rooms.
Water flow in bathroom was very weak.

Bedroom clean and warm.Very comfy bed.Breakfast was good.
It was a shame but the bathroom looked very designer but was poorly finished, the sealant was a bit rough and peeling. It was also very cold despite the heated towel rail.
This was our third visit to the Olde Kings Arms. A lovely old pub with loads of atmosphere. Staff can't do enough for you. Great location too.
Some of the rooms are a bit on the small side if youre staying more than a night but cant fault facilities or cleanliness
The position of the pub is great we love it in the old town.
I think the bedrooms could still do with a bit of updating and if accessories are used on the beds they need to be clean and new. Bedroom 4!is very small but fine for one night.
Greeting was nice. Breakfast was ok.
Noisy. But untidy. Cups not clean.
Friendly staff. Room small but was nice to stay in.
Only thing toilet seat kept shifting suddenly to the left. So uncomfortable
