It’s clean and staff are friendly. Value for money is fantastic, breakfast was included in our stay. We stayed for 2 nights with our children to visit Harry Potter Universal Studios. It’s located next to the Paper Mill, a family friendly pub where we ate both evenings. Free parking at the hotel also.

Location

Bed mattress in room 332 in Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead (Apsley) was too hard, very difficult to sleep and remain asleep. It was by far, the worst hotel mattress we have ever slept on in our 33 years of marriage. We will not be staying here again when we visit family up here again.

Breakfast was very poor. Cooked items not hot enough. Overcooked bacon. Under cooked sausage.

The staff were all brilliant, all very friendly with no exceptions. The bar area and available food/drink/facilities was also good, the location and ease of parking.

We requested a cot prior to booking (booking made months in advance) and arrived at the hotel approx 7.30pm. Unfortunately, there was no cot in our room and actually no room in the room to put a cot in, which meant our 15 month year old had to sleep in our bed (we already had a pull out bed in the room for our 10 year old son). On a standard double sized bed this wasn't ideal. Some areas of the room were tired - couple of lights not working, mould in the shower and bathroom, and the room itself was quite small though not really an issue for a one night stay.

Good location, good breakfast friendly staff

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Lovely clean rooms, great breakfast included. We would stay again!

Room was nice but bathroom was smelly

Lack of staff leading to delays in every direction, checking in, drinks, ordering food, very limited choice on menunot enough breakfast items cooked in time, no cutlery, tables not cleared. No plates at times, not the staffs fault they could only do so much.

Staff were helpful friendly and obliging.

There isn't anything that I didn't like

Comfortable bed. Good strong shower. Quiet, and dark in room with curtains drawn (facing well-lit main road).

Check-in reception staff member straight-faced, not very welcoming. Took fifteen minutes to find a parking place upon returning to the hotel at 11pm - only got the last one because someone left as I was driving round . . . and round . . . and round . . .

The location and the room was comfortable.

Breakfast was a little chaotic but the choice was good.

Beds are super comfortable, location is great as train station/ bus station just a few minutes walk. Breakfast was spot on and included which was great.

The beds are rock solid very uncomfortable premier inn beds far better the tv is outdated picture quality was awful

Cottage was perfectly clean upon arrival, with comfortable rooms. Aircons helped to cool the interior on the hot nights.

The municipal road accessing the property needs some work as the rains have degraded it.
