London Croydon Aerodrome Hotel By Sunday

Location.

My 3rd stay this year. Since May elevators not working. I was asked to walk up to 2nd floor, I walk with a cane, climbing stairs is a challenge. I asked for a lower level room. It was musty, the bathroom smelled of urine, it was noisy.

they finally updated half of the rooms. but you have to pay @$30 more to upgrade to them

the water kettle had vinegar it something inside it. I drank it. the maid asked if I had proof

Old, dated, needs remodeling. Definitely not a 4 star

room very dated not dirty but shabby shower leaked into the rest of the bathroom had to use one towel to mop up the water! Needs a make over also road noise very loud need double glazed windows installed

Nothing stood out, it's an average business hotel. Receptionist very pleasant lady.

Room was very small. Annoyingly window was open on arrival, so room was cold, had to switch on portable radiator.Could not get WiFi to work on my first night. Mentioned it to reception. I resolved it second night using chat gpt.I originally booked with booking.com for 3 nights, however immediately noticed my error and messaged to try and alter. Got a straight refusal. Although I understood Booking.com take the money, the hotel would have received the money and therefore could have made a gesture given the genuine error. As a regular business traveller it leaves a bad tasteFinally the waiter was so heavily accented I genuinely could not understand him, and had to accompany him to the bar to identify the brands.

Location

The room was very noise with the plumbing going off all night along with the air conditioning and or whatever machine was outside the window.. no means of controlling the room temperature.. what was worst the corridors smelt of cannabis from when we arrived to when we left the next day.

I liked that the room was cleaned, the water was hot when I took a shower and the room was very spacious

I left a firestick with remote and a bottle of perfume in the room I realised when I got home called the hotel asked if anyone stayed in the room the next day and no1 stayed so the only people that would have been in the room is housekeeping. However housekeeping say they found nothing but they where the only people who had access to the room . I

I used it before, so I was aware of what the property was like, which is pleasant

I didn’t like the fact that it was very noisy from the neighbours next door and opposite us the fact we was near the lift. And the fire alarm went off in the morning which disturbed our sleep☹️

I like the entry way.I was at a private 90th birthday function. The staff were pleasant and worked hard to make the 90th birthday celebration a success.

My room was awful, dingy, no wardrobe space. No floor space, cramped. One of the worst hotel rooms I have stayed in. I travel a lot, all over the world and this was the worst room by far. I am sure there are lovely rooms in this hotel. I would not recommend it, unfortunately.

Breakfast was decent

Room wasn’t well cleaned, a lot of light pollution under the door from the corridor, and room 9, my room had a very noisy air con unit just outside the window that kept going throughout the night. Only one pillow on the bed, and a soft and worn mattress. Paying for car parking, typical London profiteering.

Not worth it considering that...

Room very small, bed uncomfortable, bathroom tubs not working properly. This hotel has gone down a lot since I last stayed 4-5 years ago. It feels like it has been neglected for all those years. Shame

Staff were nice

Our bathroom water was like warm. As I unplugged the bath water and proceeded to come out, the chain was sucked into the plug hole. When I pulled it out a whole load of ginger hair (not mine as my hair is black) came out wrapped around the chain. It was dixgusting. We paid for parking for / nights and on the second night had no space had to park in a staff area at the back as and were told to remove the cat at midnight when the party guests leave. Our room was above the party we could not sleep. We have previously gotten married here and always stay here. This will be our last visit. It was the worst 2 nights sleep ever! Used to also have veg sausages. Only pork now.

Clean & comfortable room & bed. Good shower. Well located. Good value. Very nice buffet breakfast. Will stay again.

I attended the Hotel due to attending a course. It's location was excellent, being a cross from the Caronnade opened up nightly activities after I finished my training days. Nearby buses meant I could attend Purley. Was there more available, probably but I did not have the time to try them all out.The staff were very welcoming and the prices at the bar were fairly reasonable.One of the best aspects about the rooms was the prevalence of plugs both normal 3 pin UK and USB C which made charging my phone from any part of the room significantly easy.

The soundproofing was effectively non-existent. Upon entering my floor from the lifts I heard the sound of coital relations and it echoes down the corridor. But again, as an adult it is not something I mind hearing. But bear it in mind if you do have persons of a younger age in your party.The rooms were modest and provided everything needed for a reasonable stay. Kettle, toilet with bath and shower. The double bed was comfy, though the pillows were a bit lacking. Doubled up my pillows due to being by myself. I did not bother asking for more pillows from reception so I am not sure if that was an option.The heating in the room was most definitely on. For the small double room, it was at times excessively hot and I was wearing shorts and t-shirt to go to sleep. Mostly sleeping without my blanket or putting on the fan. Could not find a thermostat to regulate the room temperature.One of the minor surprises was I found a set of lady's underwear hanging on my chair upon my arrival. This was promptly disposed of in the bin. But in general the room was clean.
