- Gorgeous looking hotel settled in the Surrey Hills! Lovely staff and food was amazing!
Cons -
- Tv connection was poor, and cleniness wasn't up to scratch for a 4 star hotel house keeping needs reviewing as took to long to come and change stuff and pick up dinner tray from the night before! Wasn't collected till late afternoon so was outside room all that time, food wasn't cooked to right standard ie.(steak was still mooing) when ordered medium rear, and not a lot of choice on menu.
- A nest of lady bugs in our room but was sorted very quickly breakfast on Sunday was cold

Nothing!
Great location, near to Guildford. Peaceful setting. Nice interior.
Our room hasn’t been properly cleaned by the housekeeper with the old laundry and rubbish still in the room. The bathroom light was broken too, flashing on and off continuously. Furnishing in room were really worn.
The hotel building and grounds are beautiful. Our bathroom was spacious, modern and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and seemed very committed.
We had booked dinner but the dinner menu wasn't available as there were too few guests. We got a free bottle of wine in compensation, which meant we didn't have to spend £47 on a wine that retails for around £9 a bottle. Our room was a bit tired and didn't warrant four stars.
Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. There is a bar but no lounge or library to work in.
The restaurant was closed. Had I known this I would not have booked.
Beautiful old building in a lovely setting.
Called reception at 1.30pm to ask if i could check in at 2pm. Couldn't check in 1 hr early unless I paid £50. When we arrived there were only 5 cars in the car park and only 4 cars at 10pm. So the hotel wasn't even half full. Felt £50 was unreasonable.
A stunning building, shame about the greenhouses, look dangerous and in a state of disrepair a shame as you could grow all you produce on site
I stay here a lot over the past 4 years , and there’s alway a lack of staff wile in bar , also the bar is so bright and why is it on so many occasions it’s so cold ! A fire that’s not alight it’s very uncomfortable to eat in there , as for that magnificent restaurant with the amazing wood paneling!!! Who decided to hang the most hideous paper into the paneling, a disgraceful decision! Cold and again a lack of warmth, this restaurant should be more busy then I have seen over the years , sorry about my input but it needs to be looked into especially that restaurant
Room was OK, but no clean up after first night, bed not made, towels not changed....no visit to the room at all.Bathroom was OK, although shower controls were difficult to control.Complained of cold room, but heater was delivered so very good!Breakfast was mediocre, and kitchen was closed for dinner due to Christmas.Staff were very pleasant so no complaints...
As already stated, room was not touched after first night of two night stay. (It was over Christmas, but to be charged full price with no service was a bit much!)Kettle was provided but NO tea, Coffee or milk...that is unforgivable in a hotel of this level! As two 77 year olds, on arrival we were told our room (No 21) was on the second floor, with no lift. Then the access to our room was up a further two stairs (see photo). On leaving the room, the heavily sprung door tended to push us down the two stairs...really dangerous for elderly people.
Location, building character and staff
peace and quiet
a lamp that was mounted on the outside of the building above the window, which shone so brightly that the light passed through the blinds and illuminated the entire room.. I would suggest installing curtains in these rooms.
Beautiful property with great staff
Damp and dirty carpeting
The history of the building and its quirky areas. That is got lots of ordinal features due to being listed.
A couple of things . Due to yet again the age of the building and complications with electrics and plumbing.
beautiful place and setting is amazing
we had bugs in bathroom and was over the bath and so we couldn't enjoy the bathing g experience
We liked the Country House hotel feel and the lovely location
Not so keen on the room being in a seperate building to the main hotel
I loved the hotel design. The interior and exterior are stunning, very beautiful, impressive that has been there since the 1900s , so a compliment is very well preserved and gorgeous, the staff friendly and kind, food delicious , generous breakfast and personalised which is incredible , room clean , they pleased me with with special and important requests . I'll definitely come back
the room heating didn't work ,but they solved it, giving us some useful solutions it did work, which honestly was good. And the shower water was too hot
Nice building and garden
Quality of food was basic
A lovely hotel. Staff were brilliant. Really helpful.
A little too much walking. I am old and need a stick
Lovely old building, tastefully decorated, friendly staff.
Not alot
Very tired room, no attention to detail, nothing plugged in, no lamp, no fan plugged in
