Very homely feel to the place. Staff made me very welcome. The rooms were very well equipped.Location was convenient for me.Lovely home made breakfast.Would definitely visit again.

Parking is limited but i had no problem to get a space which was lucky.Nothing to complain about. Very good value for the money.

The whole experience from check-in to check-out was a real pleasure, staff friendly an professional.food exceptional on both evenings

water pressure is fantastic and hot.

In the room where I was staying toilet seat was supported with wooden block.. my guess - to not brake off when sitting on it. Also when closing doors for the room the last bit instead of soft close is hard close.. bangs like crazy with force.. if fingers still between doors and frame easy can brake fingers. Room No.1Maybe can move the sink slightly over or make smaller.. can't normal sit on toilet seat. This issue is in every room.. need sit sideways.. layout in bathroom is off.. for me it is each time annoying.

Room rate does not include overnight parking at £10 per night this is a bit steep! Breakfast is not included again £15 is expensive considering the room rate. Overall view clean and comfortable but still basic personally its over priced.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Staff friendly and accommodating. Room was brilliant, clean, comfy, spacious. The breakfast was gorgeous. We will return!

Good standard of hotel.

Single sheet toilet paper dispenser is really annoying because otherwise it's a pretty decent bathroom.You now have to pay £10 for parking separately (it used to be included like most places in the price). It's reasonable value for money even with the parking, so they should include it in the price !

Excellent room, quiet, spacious and good tea/coffee making facilities.

Restaurant was noisy, loud music even at breakfast. No buffet breakfast, had to find the only member of staff around to ask for it to be cooked.

Food was really good. Room was comfortable and warm. Wifi was a little weak in the evenings and dropped a lot. Little dissapointed having to pay £10 pound per night extra to park my car outside my room hence I never took the car to the hotel.I fel it should be included in the price of my stay. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Room service very good .

I usually stay @ The Portland as have local connections and always good

It’s not the property due to loyalty level on Booking .com I was assured an upgrade which I did not get .. this is the second time

The staff were amazing. So tentative & friendly. We love the surrounding & the lodges were brilliant. Very comfortable beds & spacious rooms.

The property was clean, tidy and warm (which was very important with minus temps outside). The food was excellent. Lots of parking spaces (£10). We would stay again without hesitation.

Musty smell in bathroom. A £10 charge to use car park overnight -yes - in quiet Ashington! And breakfast charges were steep £15.00 , for a help yourself continental breakfast and £20.00 for a full cooked buffet breakfast these charges are NOT reasonable when much cheaper quality breakfast available close by.

Staff were really friendly, bar/restaurant was nice and food was good. Didn't visit the spa, as only a short stay, but apparently the hair salon and spa are excellent

Parking charge was unnecessary, street parking next door was free⁸
