About
At the western end of Loch Tay, overlooking the beautiful River Lochay, the Killin Hotel offers rooms with attached bathroom, a riverside bistro and a popular local pub. Parking is available and free WiFi is available in public areas and most rooms. Built on the site of a 17th-century inn, the Killin Hotel sits opposite the local bowling green, tennis courts, putting green and park. Killin Golf Club is a short stroll down the road. Each room is en suite and comes with a TV and tea and coffee facilities. The property has an additional 5 rooms in the annex building behind the hotel. Enjoy the relaxed conservatory and sun terrace in summer, while in winter you’ll find a welcome log fire in the cozy lounge-bar. Bring a laptop and you can use the free Wi-Fi. With a fantastic view of the river and the mountains beyond, the bistro uses the freshest local ingredients from quality Scottish producers. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park can be reached in 45 minutes by car, while both Glasgow and Edinburgh are under 2 hours' drive away.

Cons -
- As a dog owner our accommodation was in an annex and not in the hotel itself. We felt like we have been banished to the car park.
- Stayed in the Annex, was just a little tired looking BUT as we had a large dog we did not mind as we would have probably felt guilty if the room was brilliantly fresh and we had taken in our stinky mutt lol
- Room was well maintained and modern but communal areas a bit tired. Breakfast generous and good, but coffee truly awful - like something from a B&B in 1979. Is it really coffee?

Great location, good value, nice staff
The shower in our room was just too small to be functional (1.8M, 13 st).
The location.
It's a noisy place. There seemed to be clunking and clashing well into the small hours and the staff only door next to my room was regularly banged.
Location, friendly staff, historic building. Great breakfast with plant-based options.
A bit shabby in places. Strong deodorizer smell in room. Our choice of curry paneer at dinner was subpar.
The setting and the deck room for dining was lovely. The dining service was great. The location was walkable to everything. The room was comfortable.
Guests staying 2 rooms down were loud and abusive to each other and we lost a few hours sleep. When we reported it, the night manager dealt with it swiftly.and efficiently.
Amazing location and a really beautiful setting overlooking the river and Mountains.Great option for Loch Tay area and Killin is a really beautiful village.
Overall the room was clean and comfy and the water pressure was good.It wasn't a problem for us as we were leaving early and it is an older building, but the soundproofing isn't great and also the bleeping if you leave the door room open can get a bit annoying.
On-site restaurant
Even though we booked 2 months in advance, our room was in what looked like a former barn or shed, not the main hotel. We arrived at dining room 5 minutes before it ‘opened’ but instead of being seated (to wait at a table) we were told we would have to wait in the bar. Then a few minutes later, other guests were seated and no attempt was made to come and get us. It seemed to be unnecessary
Wonderful old hotel that is well maintained. All staff we encountered were extremely hospitable.
Food was great, room was clean.
The reception experience was not pleasant. Host should be happy and welcoming not grumpy.
Very friendly and helpful staff.Dinner was amazing, especially the curry, it was incredibly delicious.
nice property if you keep expectations down as it is old and needs refurbishing. old scottish hotel decor is cool and should be kept.
needs refurbishing in the old traditional scottish decor. property is tited but it is still cool
Clean smart hotel.room modern and nicely decorated.food very good in hotel restaurant served by friendly attentive staff
Bed a wee bit hard
Location was quiet
Food was terrible. Room was small. Dogs were dirty and noisy.
Budget price so didn't expect too much, but was clean and tidy, very comfortable . Would stay again
Room was clean and comfortable.
Elevator did not seem to work. The lady at reception, when checking out in the morning, seemed busy and upset at the computer. The only thing she said was "no problem" when I told her thanks and bye.
The location, the friendly staff and the restaurant. The fact that the hotel has a lift is a big plus.
The front desk only start working on 8 am… as if people does not have plans and need to get out early. The room was close to the lift so the noises were a disturbance…
They prepared pet free room for our child who has dog allergy. They asked us to charge £20 extra if we prefer to stay pet free room. We didn't want to pay extra so we contacted to Booking.comm. In the end the hotel didn't charge us.
Annex room when we opened the door the wall had mold.
We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious.
We were in room 43. There was a loud noise from the heating system all night long.
