Nice location, clean, 24 hr bar, nice power shower. Some staff happy to please.

Two staff members didn’t like dogs, allergic, yet it’s a dog friendly hotel and the dog was exceptionally good. , this happened in the bar area. The two young staff chatted behind the bar not worrying about the situation or the customers. We overheard the conversations, the female staff of the two brought her two friends into hotel to intimidate then left.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and we were left clean towels every morning. It is also great value for money and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time I’m in the area.

Buses run regularly a few hundred yards away, free parking.

Swimming pool is not part of the hotel but belongs to the university, reception very uninterested, called them as there were a few issues, TV did not work, bedside lamps flashed like a disco, they said they would send someone, half an hour later they called back to say they didn't have time to send anyone but if we were happy to move we were welcome to go to reception to get a key for another room, bearing in mind there are no lifts.

Very close to the university tennis centre. The pastries at breakfast were nice and fresh.

The buffet breakfast had been out too long, so the bacon was not as good as it could have been.

Great location on Stirling Campus with free parking and good breakfast.

    Rooms in need of updating.

    7GemmaPosted on: 2-10-2026

Bedroom was clean and comfortable. Location is perfect, and very quiet (usually).

The firealarm going off at 7am on the sunday morning!

    Parking

Apart from Michael at reception other staff weren’t friendly and inviting. Didn’t explain where lift was and when checking out didn’t ask how stay was, breakfast and coffee wasn’t warm

Everything was as excpected stayed here previously stall all very polite and courteous

The only thing i would say when we stayed there was a function each night is it not possible to put up a pop up bar in fuction suite in corner were staff can access the main bar to access draught beers and save the customers having to come through to main bar . please note this is not a fault hopefully constructive criticism

    In lovely surroundings

It was tired, needs a few improvements. Noisy in corridors until 3.30am.

I saw previous reviews, albeit after I’d booked, and was concerned what I’d let myself in for but after the event I was pleasantly surprised. Menu/food and portions are really good as is the breakfast. Prices are really reasonable too. Some staff were really welcoming and helpful. Housekeeping was great, serviced the room everyday.

Reception staff seemed ill equipped to deal with minor issues or even compliments. One young lady (with the glasses), despite me saying thank you for a pleasant stay and lovely food, could only nod an acknowledgment. It all seemed too much. Or she was visibly bored. Nobody asked ‘how was your stay’. Day 1 TV didn’t work. Despite pointing this out, nothing happened. Day 2 the TV was changed. No signal, attributed to the ‘atmospherics’ apparently. My room had holes in the curtains (102) and the decor as has been suggested elsewhere is dated. I could go on… but I won’t.

    7DavidPosted on: 1-20-2026

    Good

The tv had no volume but staff got us another tv that was better.

    8EmmaPosted on: 1-19-2026

Easy to get to by bus from the train station and in the centre of the uni campus so some facilities around.Comfy bed.I was attending a course and the meals provided were plentiful and tasty with good snacks and hot drink selection provided. The meeting rooms/public areas are really lovely.

The rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired, the bathroom ceiling light wasn't working and the TV was very crackly and fuzzy.
