    Pros +

    • Lovely hotel friendly staff, would definitely stay again.
    • We stayed in the junior suite, which was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely sea view. The bed was excellent, and all the staff were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious with generous portions. We stayed for two nights with breakfast and dinner included — great value for money.
    • We booked a cosy room and they gave us an upgrade for £10 didn't expect to get a bath in the bedroom and a sofa with a table to. Best room in the hotel overlooking the sea.

    Cons -

    • The weather the next day it was a storm.
    • The heating in the room was broken. The walls are paper thin! The double bed isnt a double bed, its 2 single beds pushed up together. The central heating is clearly plumbed wrong as it worked before we came in (radiator was cooling down) and as we left it came back on! The staff checked the boiler (and our room) so wasnt that. Our neighbours were having a party and we had to call reception to ask them to turn their music off at 1AM. They went on to keep talking which we could still hear!! I can't really complain about our neighbours talking, so I just had to put up with it while trying to sleep but the walls are so thin it was like they were in the room with us.The 2 single beds we had which are pushed together like an Austrian double were slightly different heights and you cant lay anywhere between the 2 without being uncomfortable. Also 3 out of 4 of the pillows were very uncomfortable, lumpy and clumpy, so only my wife got a reasonable pillow. By this point I was tired of having to call reception so just put up with it as well. The double glassed window was old and a bit broken and the latch needed to be put just in the right place to stand a chance to keep the wind out.All in all, not what you would expect from a decent hotel at all. I can't recommend here at all.
    • We felt that bar closed too early especially as it was a Saturday night. We got back around 11.00 expecting to have a drink in a bar but told it was closed and no room service. On Sunday evening, after a very wet and windy day we decided to stay in our room to eat. We expected to order room service by phone but had to go downstairs to the bar to order and pay. Annoying having just got warm after a shower into nightclothes.

Great location for Lea Cliffs Hall, took about 15 mins to walk into town, and around 30 to walk to Harbour Arm.

Very conveniently placed, good facilities and great staff

It’s a bit stuffy in the room even if the window is open

The View hotel always is a pleasure to stay at.....the staff the rooms and definitely the view.

There wasn't lunch during the week. And the menu wasn't so great as previously had there.

Great front line sea views.Warm and comfortable bed and room, nice ensuite.Food was nice when the restaurant opened about 5pm.Breakfast was the usual variety and adequate.Restaurant area was a bitchilled, wear a jumper down for breakfast. We had tickets for Leas Cliff Hall which is a 7 minute level stroll away.Parking available outside £7 per day for 24 hours. All lovely helpful friendly staff that we encountered.Had an enjoyable stay.

When we arrived the bar was open for drinks thankfully as we were awaiting another couple, just could have done with a light snack BUT NO FOOD UNTIL 5PM.

Nice location hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel has a bit of wear and tear, but is generally fine.We stayed in 'Apartment 1' which is very much but, unbeknownst to us, is on the lower ground floor and consequently lacks much natural light.Additionally, when we visited (feb 26) the radiators weren't working and 3 small portable heaters were used to heat the room. Unfortunately, these weren't quite adequate and the room was quite cold, particularly the bathroom

    10Deb172goPosted on: 2-14-2026

We arrived on a very wet day and we walked into a beautiful and warm room it was so welcoming. Plenty of space, tastefully decorated, and had very thing we wanted. Loved the bathroom.Evening snack in the bar was very good, excellent service.

Breakfast looked lovely, self service but unfortunately the plates were cold so food also ended up cold.

    8LouisePosted on: 2-14-2026

Great location right on the sea front. We arrived too late to eat in the restaurant but very close to other restaurants and bars.

    9AliPosted on: 2-12-2026

The location is great. The staff are all very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately the bed wasn't very comfortable and has left me with a frozen shoulder.

    9NicolaPosted on: 2-11-2026

Staff were really friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful for any request we had. Very easy parking at the property which we paid extra for. The Junior Suite was wonderfully spacious, it had a huge and very comfy bed and lovely bathroom facilities. Also great views of the sea to wake up to!

The room was a little tired - some cracks in the walls, heating needed re-booting to work and the bathroom smelt a little like drains at times but would still go back and stay again as overall, we loved the hotel and room!

    9MatthewPosted on: 2-11-2026

The staff were very friendly, the room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and warm on a wet and windy winter's day. The location next to the sea and close to the zig zag path was convenient with the town centre and train station being a 15 minute walk away. Our stay in February felt like very good value for money.

The only negative was the provided toiletries - mini bottles (20ml) of shampoo, conditioner and body wash were insufficient for two - fixed pump bottles would be preferable and create less plastic waste.

Friendly staff very helpful. Delightful location and very lovely room

    8AlanPosted on: 2-9-2026

Everything. Best hotel on the Seafront and I've stayed in many in Folkestone.

My usual complaint about being a smoker and during the winter they just let you freeze outside.

    8RenaPosted on: 2-5-2026

It was bigger than we thought. A big tall mirror on the bathroom door. Location was convenient for Lea cliff hall where we saw a concert.

There was only one set of shampoo, body wash as we booked for twin. Cleaner works very early. It was noisy next door when we are still in bed.(8:30am)

    7BrittaPosted on: 2-4-2026

Great location, uniformly lovely staff, clean and functional room.

Alas, it’s an old building with old plumbing - you can hear someone flush their loo from three rooms down as the pipes clank, plus the water pressure in the shower is akin to a gentle spring mist coming down! The floors are also creaky and uneven in places and I had issues with my keycard on a few occasions (I only stayed two nights, so having to get a card redone for my room on the third floor on three occasions was a bit much!)

    7IsabelPosted on: 2-3-2026

Bed/Mattresses comfy, lovely mix of historic architecture and renovated parts in hotel, really great breakfast and delicious dinner, always available reception staff

Visible signs of past Water-piping leak in room was problematic, very dusty surfaces (even inside cupboard) in room
