Cons -
- £30 fee on arrival I’m still waiting to be refunded
- General state of the decor, furnishings - very old and faded. General air of being run down. Charged £20 per night for my little dog, and couldn’t refund the two nights that my dog didn’t stay as I was in hospital. No understanding of my predicament. I had an accident on the first day of my stay and was unable to stay for the other two nights booked. Receptionist insisted she would have to get authorisation from the general manager who was on holiday until end of February. No offer of refund for the two nights that I didn’t occupy the room. Generally poor service and lack of empowerment of the reception staff.
- Obviously not a reflection of the hotel but only thing I could think of was that the lift is very small

Hotel was a little dated but very clean the position was amazing right on seafront, on our way down we saying we would love a curry a when we pulled up there was an Indian restaurant with in the hotel , which was great good, the bar in hotel was very relaxing for a drink , and staff were very friendly and helpful I forgot a plug for charging and the young lady behind the bar had spare , we’ll definitely be back as location was AMAZING
Just a little dated but I don’t want it to be pucker posh as it was in my budget for sea front location, may be a breakfast being served would be great,
Great location. Beach facing. Lobby looked clean.
The property presented several serious issues:Cleanliness: The kettle contained residue from milk boiled by a previous guest and had not been cleaned. The duvet was covered in black hair, and there were visible dust marks on the bed runner. The carpet also contained black hair, and there were nail polish stains on the chair. These conditions indicate inadequate housekeeping and poor attention to detail.Facilities and Maintenance: The cupboard was inaccessible without climbing onto the bed, and items inside were broken, making it impractical and unsafe to use. In the shower, the soap and shampoo dispensers contained only enough product for one or two uses, which is insufficient for guest accommodation.Safety: Access to the room required walking through a narrow, concealed passage and then through a restaurant and its toilet area. This arrangement felt inappropriate and unsafe. Restaurant staff intervened unnecessarily and behaved in a discriminatory manner. Overall, the premises appeared unprofessional and insecure.Staff Conduct: Upon arrival, there was no greeting or basic courtesy. Instead, I was met with silence and immediately asked to pay a £30 deposit. When I raised concerns, they were dismissed or met with distrust, as though I were being untruthful. I was repeatedly questioned about my nationality and origin, and no accountability or resolution was offered.
Good location, quiet
Very small lift
Location, comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Restaurant service and food.
Somewhat basic but understandable at the price
Location was right in the water edge
We had bed bugs in our room and after 45 mins of being in the room we left the hotel and slept in the car
Location was fantastic, right on the beach. Good pub and takeaways.
Location was great. Right by seafront. Lovely and quiet which is what I was looking for.
Decor very basic but adequate. No breakfast at hotel and only evening meal was indian cuisine
Lovely and clean room, cosy bar
Minor: some window frames needs a lick off paint ( public corredors)
Staff great, location brilliant especially for a pre-Eurotunnel overnight), even the small double is a decent size, nice bar area. Good looking Indian restaurant next door.
£20 for the dog for one night is excessive.
No food at hotel so ate dinner and breakfast out. Bed comfortable. Room. Large enough
Hard to get in and out of bathroom.sliding door would have been better. Radiator nit warm enough. No soap or cup in bathroom
The location of the hotel is great for access to the beach and it was close to the people I was visiting. Staff were always very polite, friendly and genuine. The size of the room I was given was very good, as was the size of the bathroom. The room was clean and tidy, as was the rest of the hotel.
There were no breakfast facilities at the hotel. There was only one very small lift. The heating was not switched on so my room was very cold at night. I asked for the heating to be turned on and instead was provided with a heater for my room, which worked well and kept the room warm from then on. When I arrived the room smelt very strongly of bleach and once the smell of bleach finally dissipated, the room smelt faintly of mould, although there was no mould visible anywhere. The toilet made strange noises during the night? Overall, the hotel really needs an upgrade as in places it was shabby and needed a bit of TLC.
Spotlessly clean. It’s right on the seafront and facing South, so we were able to watch the sunrise from our small enclosed balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Nothing at all.
The staff were polite and very helpful it’s location on the beach front and only 10 mins walk into Hythe with its shopping and dining facilities
Corridors and lift a bit tired
We booked a standard room , we received a dual aspect corner room with a sea view . The room was spacious with plenty of room around the bed to walk around. A comfy arm chair and dressing table with another chair . It was very clean on arrival and cleaning staff came in daily to keep it that way. We are in the Indian restaurant on site with a window table and the meal and the staff were excellent. We should know a good Indian as we have eaten them for years. Gregg the manager was always cheerful and gave exceptional service.
To criticise any thing would be petty as we had a great time.
Great location on the seafront. Hotel price very reasonable given location and I’d assume some of the rooms have a great view (not the one I stayed in.) Duvet warm.
Floorboards were creaky but fortunately neighbouring and above rooms went to bed at a similar time to myself so it didn’t affect me too much at this stay.
Friendly receptionist great location! Room was big
A little bit dated could do with a refurbishment
Very helpful staff, good rooms and well serviced
