Cons -
- Despite booking in advance, we were placed in a room directly above a party. We asked staff if we could be moved (no as fully booked) and what time music would end - we were told midnight. It eventually ended at 01:15. So little sleep.

The location, right on the sea front.

Great Sea View, Best Breakfast Ever. Room Very Big And Warm
The Entrance Door Made A Load Bang When Ever Some One Came In, OUR Room Was Next To It , Only Thing
The room was very spacious with high ceilings, giving a comfortable and open feel. The sea-facing view was beautiful. Although the property is located by the roadside, it was not overly noisy overall. The front desk staff were polite and welcoming.
The room is located above a bar, and low-frequency music noise continued until around 11:30 pm. Fortunately, my child and I tend to sleep later, so it was manageable for us, but it may not be suitable for guests who prefer an early night or are sensitive to noise. The hot water supply in the bathroom was unstable and took some time to warm up.Parking is on-street. The hotel’s designated parking areas are on the roads on either side of the property, but availability is not guaranteed. In practice, it was often easier to find a space on the road opposite the hotel
The room the position of the hotel
Heater ... It is run only based on schedule which doesn't support cold nights
Big rooms, great breakfast and extremely helpful, polite and happy staff. Hotel situated close to all amenities required, pubs, restaurants, take aways, beach etc.
One little niggle which only affects this time of year (winter), there's no heating in the bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were are great size and the location was perfect.
Shower needs repairing, it didn’t have any pressure, the temperature kept changing, it was extremely hot or very cold and the bath plug was blocked. The pillows need renewing and the balcony could do with some maintenance.
The staff were brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful the whole time we stayed, we were here for a function and everyone made us feel so welcome and comfortable :) the room was huge I’d definitely book again
Our room was so spacious and had a lovely corner sofa and beautiful view of the sea
The staff were excellent all round, friendly and accommodating. The cooked breakfast was fresh, tasty and served with a smile by a lady I believe was actually doing the cooking.
We stayed in room 31, so all comments are specific to this room. The bed/mattress was uncomfortably hard, the pillows were flat as pancakes. The emergency light above the door literally lit up the whole room all night, not subtly. It looks like there was a curtain across the split from the seating area to the sleeping area to alleviate this issue, but it was not there, just a rail / track. The curtains do not cover the windows, most look like they should but once it was morning the entire room was lit up as I assume they sat too far away from the wall on their rail or too short.I was woke up around 7am hearing people talking in reception as the bed backed on to the adjoining wall, this continued periodically until I succumbed and got out of bed.The room was cold, the radiator did not seem to work and there was a tiny and inadequate electric radiator in the room. The bathroom was odd, due to a "Mural" on the wall at the bathroom sink the mirror was on a side wall at at a height too high for my wife to use. The room echoed with the noise of not just our toilet being flushed, but also the neighbours and upstairs room.
Great location, spacious room - excellent breakfast
You can imagine that this location would have been very grand back in the day & the place to stay in the Clacton. The furniture was comfortable but slightly basic for the grand sea view bedroom.
Breakfast.
Position of room was not what was expected. Also there was a strong smell of drains in the bathroom.
Big Room. Breakfast and Location.
There was a party downstairs with loud music on late at night which kept us up.
Lovely location, excellent service, staff very welcoming very friendly, will be returning again,,
Great breakfast to start the day after a comfortable night's sleep. Pleasant, happy and helpful staff. Seafront views and close to all amenities required for your stay.
E veryone was always very cheerful and helpful. Breakfast good. Sunday was extra special they have a restaurant called the box. Food was delicious especially the Yorkshire pudding wrap . Full of roast pork roast potatoes broccoli and stuffing with a pot of gravy.
The hotel staff gave me a steamer and extra milk when I asked. They feed as jerk chicken and rice 12.30am because we were hungry.
