Colchester Boutique Hotel

Excellent staff, room & provisions and location

This was my 2nd stay at the Boutique Hotel and it certainly won't be my last. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful but also respectful. I arrived 30 minutes early but my room was ready,no problems,no hassles. My room was clean and tidy and with all the facilities I needed for ny stay and as I was attending a gig at the Arts Centre,its location was perfect. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for breakfast (which smelt great by the way) as I had to leave early. All round my stay was superb

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was impressive. They moved a car so we could have a parking spot which was appreciated. Staff shared helpful tips about the area. The location was very convenient. We stayed 1 night to attend a concert at Castle Park and it was only a short walk away. Would gladly stay again.

Breakfast was continental, done the job, hotel nicely positioned just off the high street. Parking is very tight, arrived late and squeezed in.

Rooms although nice were a little dated.No complaints though.

Can't believe were having to drive back home....booked a hotel in colchester to see ub40 tomorrow. Now bearing in mind this was supposedly a suite, only booked because it was fully booked and it was the suite or nothing and we wanted to be with our friends. Not cheap. We were willing to overlook that the bedroom you couldnt swing a cat in, let alone get dressed. Downstairs had been renovated but the junior suite has not, it has been painted over. The bed was probably older then me. Had to push the bed back in order to shut the door. Isnt really a suite, no cups glasses, compliments like tea coffee etc a horrible rumbling noise which we couldn't figure out where or how to stop it and then gone to go to bed and blood all over our bed sheets. Hotel wont do anything so here we are on our way home after calling every hotel and driving to several all fully booked.

The hotel is situated in a great location . The staff very friendly and helpful. Bedroom perfect for stays and well equipped. Could not fault it

Good central location. Decent shower with toiletries. Good selection at continental breakfast.

Pillows were lumpy and the bed was very low. Room was stuffy, but air conditioning was too noisy to use. Plug in sink didn’t work and decor was a little tired.

We both really enjoyed our stay. We were n town for a local event and the hotel was ideally located. Every member of staff we spoke to was very friendly and always happy to help. We will definitely return

Only minor issue is we had some issues running the shower as there are additional water jets that we found sprayed outside of the bath and flooded the room, though this was mainly an error on our part

Really lovely small hotel with great staff who were super friendly. The room was gorgeous (if a little warm!) and very spacious. We checked in early as the room was ready which was great. A continental breakfast is included and was the best continental breakfast spread I think I've ever seen!

Nothing - it was all great!

The staff were amazing. Excellent location, right in the centre. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice available. Rooms were cute. Original beams. Coffee and tea making facilities and I loved that they provided dairy free milk in the rooms.

The room we stayed in had a broken blind so we had to keep that shut. There was no mirror in the room to get ready so had to use the small one in the bathroom.

Very nice hotel located close to High Street. The friendly staff goes the extra mile to make people feel at home. Highly recommended and would always be my first option when going back to Colchester.

We checked into room 1 on the ground floor near the car park. Very clean and comfy room. Check in went smoothly and breakfast was continental and substantial. We dined a few doors down at The Noodle House for dinner with locals, and oh my gosh it was absolutely delicious. Loved that the hotel provided 2 large bottles of water, tea coffee and even cookies. Right in the heart of town.

The car park, which we were very grateful for was so incredibly narrow. We were driving a Hyundai Kona

The general manager Danny, was an absolute diamond.He was so friendly, welcoming and attentive that he made our stay extra special.The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and had everything that you needed.The breakfast was a fantastic spread, something for everyone.

Aircon was not strong enough. Twice I had to get room card reactivated because it wasn’t activated for the full duration of the visit.No room service.Towels not replaced everyday.Nespresso capsules never replaced. There were only 4 to begin with.Wasn’t given a full tour upon arrival had to ask where breakfast was served.

Room was a bit odd, a little mould on the blinds, little storage space for 2 people
