Pros +
- Central location, convenient to walk everywhere we wanted to get to.
- Staff are lovely
- Location, cleanliness, convenient parking, staff
Cons -
- Inability to control temperature in the room. It was very warm, we slept with the window open and a fan blowing ( in February!!!)Noise outside (made worse because we had to have the window open)
- My phone was soaked after being left on the window sill as they leak maybe from condensation but there was a puddle
- Pillows were uncomfortable and no spares. A bit noisy at the back of the building at night if you have the Windows open. Although closed windows were very good soundproofing

It was clean and modern, right in the centre of the town too.
Trying to gain access through the doors with keycards that didn’t always want to work was annoying.
Location was good
No staff in building so at 4-50am when fire alarm went off there was no one there to instruct on what to do luckily wasn’t a fire but something they should think about also didn’t get luxury room broken wobbly slabs on balcony loose fixtures and was small
It’s close to where I needed to be.
The thermostat was stuck at 23. Made the bathroom feel tropical! The whole hotel was roasting hot. Being on the high street side was noisy and so to feel a normal temperature i had to open the window. And then it’s really noisy (it’s noisy even with the window shut). So it’s a choice between not sleeping during to heat or noise. The bath didn’t drain so slowly filled whilst showering. The shower had no real pressure. The select button to change the spray didn’t work. When you consider that a basic hotel is so you can sleep and shower and both those were poor experiences then it’s pretty much failed for what you needed it for. Oh and there was a fire alarm at 5am on my second night. Apparently from someone’s shower. Expect they found their bathroom too hot so opened the bathroom door. All in all one of my worst hotel stays I can remember.
Always a great stay over
The fire alarm went off at 5am and there was no assistance to help any customers with regards to this…. Thankfully turned out to be a false alarm
I loved the location right in city centre. I had no idea it’d be so self serve but that suited me fine.
There was a little food on the wall but that’s all
perfect central location, generously sized room, friendly staff and great amenities.
AC / heating system can prove unreliable, random items seem to sometimes be malfunctioning. a fridge would be a great addition to an already good product.
The room was a nice size for a one night stay, clean with a comfortable bed. The location is the best part, walking distance to the City Centre and to the Castle!!
There was no air con in the room and it was very hot, we had a fan but that just blew the hot air around.
Once we got swapped to the sister hotel it was very comfortable.
Fire alarm going off, no towels in room, very very loud outside, you could hear all the local clubs & bars, thumping music & street noise. Had to request a room change at 11.30pm!!
We booked an overnight stay. The room was comfortable.
Temperature of the room, int was too hot. The temperature rose through the night.
Clean and great location
We were unable to increase the temperature in the room and it was freezing all night. I contacted the hotel and was told the temperature of the hotel was controlled centrally - despite a thermostat in the room and was nothing they could do - was freezing all night
Lifts to top floors.Clean and tidy lobby areas.Staff great.Great bteakfast
Very hard and uncomfortable bedVery noisy people could hear people in the hallways several times through the night.Lots of street noise, When returned from breakfast to retrieve luggage key card wouldn't work had to get housekeeping to let us in after 2 unsuccessful trips over the road to speak to reception.Brown stains on sheet but didn't notice until the morning after. Stains on outside of toilet, shower could be more powerful.Blown lightbulb beside the bed
The rooms were a very good size
One of our family rooms was incredibly hot; in fact, it was unbearable. We reported it to reception, and nothing was done about it. A sleepless night was had, which dampened my special birthday with my family. The control on the wall was locked, and the room was 29 degrees. Even opening the windows did nothing, so I'm very disappointed.
The hotel had a brilliant location
Our room with a small balcony to the side was smaller than other rooms we have had at the hotel.
Very little
no controller for the tv after waiting hours to then have a power cut to then having the water cut out on me half way through a shower and then even the room we got moved into was freezing cold, very loud because of how easily the noise travels through and kids running up and down the stairs late at night. Used to be amazing here now I wouldn’t recommend
Room is cosy. Staff is courteous. It is close to the shopping area.
Noisy neighbours till late night.
Everything was excellent - spotlessly clean, plenty of space in my room, , a desk for work and a lovely large balcony with a view. The room was quiet and the shower was perfect. Location could not have been better. All staff without exception were highly professional and welcoming.I really enjoyed the breakfast - very tasty indeed ! I visit many hotels across the country but breakfast here is my favourite.
Location, as near where we were going. Big room. Clean. Well equipped.
Noise from High Street late at night. Lack of adequate lighting. There are no plug sockets near a mirror. Broken hook and toilet roll holder missing. Only one chair.
