Holiday Inn Express Colchester By IHG

They serve terrible instant coffee. I needed an espresso coffee and there was none available.

Big spacious roomsGood customer service

There were loads of drain flies in my room

2nd visit. The staff are brill. There's everything you need in room. Lovely shower. Comfy beds/pillows. Black out curtains. + mainly quiet. TV. Wi-Fi. Breakfast - good taste and quality.

In a twin room could do with 2 mobile phone charging sockets.Awful draught cider. Disgusting. You should supply Aspels. Also the draught beers were rubbish. The menu is very basic, with very little I would choose or like.

Everything was fine from arrived to depart good check in breakfast very good room fantastic good supply of hot drinks and of course the igh welcome bag that we call the Goodies bag which she loves and looks forward to and of course igh points depending on spending

Clean comfortable and friendly

Good sized room, comfortable bed, and lovely food. They also gave staying customers a free drink from their Xmas drinks list!

Air con not working in room but they did provide a heater.Sofa in the room needed a clean (see pictures).

Clean and modern hotel in a good location

Comfortable & nice selection of breakfast

Don't like that you have to pay for parking now,I've stayed here many times over the years & wasn't aware that you were charged for parking now

The room was clean, modern and comfortable

Maybe biscuits to be complimentary

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was comfortably large with two single beds, as requested. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice.

Nothing to add.

Clean, comfortable and orderly.. Good location and food.

No complaints at all. Highly recommended!

Lovely staff and great room

Had to pay for parking

Helpful staff, good lighting, good breakfast nice and quiet. Better by far than the Cambridge H I

Comfortable bed. Good bar and breakfast

Paying for parking

Location close Dedham Vale. Breakfast was ok. Morning staff were pleasant.

Location difficult to get to from the south. Parking listed as “private” on booking.com’s listing page but does not explicitly say that all guests have to pay for parking, which is £8 per day. This is fact hidden away in this listing’s full details. Furthermore, when you arrive, you have to pay for the parking within 10 minutes or be fined, so it is impossible to complain or dispute this with hotel staff. They will not do anything about it and blame Booking.com. When you add £8 to the overnight stay, this does not represent value for money. I would have chosen another venue which was cheaper. Facilities of the property shown on the TV in the room actually say parking is complementary - which is not true.Beds were uncomfortable - poor mattresses. Duvet yellow in colour.

It was clean and tidy and easy to get to and there’s a large garage next door if you fancy goodies, food, drinks etc but a little expensive, food was ok but a limited menu as is the breakfast nevertheless it was ok for us

It’s out of the way of everything if that’s a problem to some travellers and parking fees,we was there and it cost us £32 I’m sure like other guests they too would think it should be in the price of the stay oh and us personally didn’t like the sausages in the morning

The hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were approachable and mostly friendly.

The hotel is located so you would need to drive to get there and they charge £8 per day to park. The WiFi is unusable and due to the location phone reception is awful. Poor amount of seating for breakfast.

Nice breakfast, good shower

Would prefer a king size bed

Room, bar,restaurant, staff,cleanliness

I had to pay £8 to park overnight. Ive never paid to park in an hotel I'm staying at before. I wasnt happy about this. The hotel should arrange for free parking for guests

Easy to find - room comfortable

Parkjng fees a little excessive for overnight!
