    - good sized rooms - early check in was available - easy to find - cosy - breakfast was okay- check out at 11- clean and tidy

    - pillows were hard- windows were mouldy and condensated- gym and pool/jacuzzi was run down- the hotel restaurant had limited options and the stater and dessert we had was vile and sent back to the kitchen. The salad under prawn cocktail was unwashed and not cut up leaving big balls of bitter lettuce. The cheesecake has a 5cm thick layer of gelatine and no lemon flavour, chantilly cream was split. How ever we didn’t end up getting charged forThese. - drinks were expensive - really loud noise started at 1am and stopped at 3, sounded like a boiler malfunctioning

It was nice and clean and the room was spacious.

There was mould around the window frame . The bathroom fan stayed on quite a lot we couldn’t turn it off , we was watching the tv and the fan was running all the time and it was still running when we went to bed .

It’s a nice hotel. Facilities were good. Really comfortable bed , large shower tray and big thick bath towels.Friendly and helpful staff.plenty of parking spaces .

The reception desk was so high we didn’t see the staff that were sat at the desk. Didn’t realise anyone was there until we got right up to the desk.

Our bedroom was very good, kept very nicely by the cleaning staff. We had been upgraded, so I think it was family size. The Farmers Pub was excellent, we ate there both nights and Matthew and his staff were really attentive. Breakfast was good, and again all the ladies we met were friendly and helpful. We stayed because we were attending the funeral of a special friend, and the "funeral tea" was very good, and the Barn venue was excellent.

A clear sign towards Reception would be helpful. Having negotiated the roadworks (!), a large sign pointing directly there is needed.

Nice location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a relaxing atmosphere. Overall a pleasant and easy stay.

    3BevPosted on: 1-3-2026

    Check in was smooth

The heating was turned off overnight. The room was freezing. Thin summer weights duvets . No extra blankets in the room . Windows iced up. Walls paper thin , could hear other guests urinating and toilets being flushed . Room was tired and dated. Reception not really interested. Have stayed in better properties for less money and would definitely not stay again.

The food was very good. On New Year’s Day it was very busy but we ate early and avoided the queue

There was no lift to the upper floor we would ask for a ground floor next time.

    Friendly helpful staff

It would be a good idea to have a mirror near the hairdryer, or a plug socket near the mirror!

    Shame breakfast so expensive

    8CalliPosted on: 12-24-2025

It was a lovely hotel and great facilities

There was only one issue, which is quite a big one. I didn't mention as only there 1 night.I went to look out windows and thought it was raining outside, but the water was on the inside. The windows were all soaked and looked like someone threw water all over them from seriously bad condensation, and all the window frames were all rotten and had seriously large amounts of black mould all over them prob the worst ive seen. Black mould is a very big concern in a bedroom and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months

    8JessicaPosted on: 12-22-2025

Beautiful property, with a perfect sized room. The bed was so comfy

Cleanliness of the room, we did notice quite a few cobwebs on ceiling

    8SaraPosted on: 12-20-2025

Location, pool, food especially breakfast which was excellent. Great there was also a pub next door for more informal meals.

Front of house staff were pleasant and helpful but needed to improve how they interact with their customers.
