    Pros +

    • Easy check in, really comfortable room, friendly staff and bar area.
    • Didn’t have breakfast
    • Excellent value for money in a great location ,helpful and friendly staff on site if you need them .It was quiet on Monday night so I slept soundly

    Cons -

    • The bed was not comfy. Could fill the springs in the bed when you lay on it. Every time you moved on the bed it made a cricking noise.
    • All good nothing negative about the stay
    • Floorboards in the room above are a little creaky but to be expected in an old building.

Nice spacious room in a good central location .

Floorboards in the room above are a little creaky but to be expected in an old building.

Staff were great, check in process was very quick and simple.

The bathroom was like an obstacle course and here was a leak from under the bath when you ran the shower. The mice or rats in the night could be heard under the floorboards and the delivery trucks at 6 in the morning is a joke.

Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. And the homemade chips!

Very nice place to stay in an excellent location. Staff are friendly and helpful

Sadly the beds were incredibly soft and very uncomfortable, possibly made worse as I had back pain prior to staying.

location was good and convenient for travelling. Since it is in the town center shopping was convenient, good place to stay.

I requested a river view room from the date off booking. I was not provided with the requested room. Every time they said its too early but on the of check in day they said not available.

Lovely old fashioned room, nice and warm on a cold November night. Right in the town centre. The hotel also has a good pub inside.

    10RachelPosted on: 11-22-2025

    Warm welcome clean and secure

    Couldn’t stay longer

    7NinaPosted on: 11-20-2025

When I arrived, I realised the room didn’t have a bath as listed. However, the woman on reception moved me to another room as soon as I raised the issue. She couldn’t have been more helpful and talked me through breakfast options. The pub itself is lovely and if you want dinner, it’s great!

The windows are single glazed - some of them have a secondary window to slide across that helps but not all of them and it was still pretty noisy even with them as it’s right in centre of town and rooms at the front have smoking/outside seating area below. They told me they are getting new windows in a couple of weeks though so this should improve!

    Nice cosy pub

Small room. Poor quality bed sheets. Duvet not big enough for the bed

Breakfast was excellent value for money..

Got stuck with tv.. couldn’t get to play tv channels at normal times.. we could’ve come downstairs and asked st bar but we’re in out night clothes by this time and exhausted..

    5BrayPosted on: 10-27-2025

The bar was convenient along with the local shops

The tallest system did not work properly which is why maintenance came to fix it one of the chair legs was loose and actually fell off we went to close to window on the last day and the bottom bit fell off as it was that rotten we did not damage things in that room they were already wrong

Central to where we needed it and room was quiet

Breakfast, ordered GF roll for 7:30 wasn’t ready until 7:50 (why ask for a time if they’re just going to cook it when you come down?) and then served with normal (non gluten free roll) Thankgod I checked, when we were served as it didn’t look like the usual. we’re both allergic this is extremely dangerous! When it arrived it wasn’t even buttered just very very dry and husbands was actually the end piece of bread. Wasn’t a great breakfast if I’m honest!

Cosy modern well kitted rooms in a traditional pub hotel setting located right in the centre of Spalding. Noise free if you keep all the windows shut. Good choice of food and drink in the pub and other choices within easy walking distance. Council car park 3 min away , free after 6pm and on Sundays

2 floors of rooms, people with mobility issues or heavy luggage may find it a challenge, request lower floor rooms

    8LauraPosted on: 10-15-2025

The room was clean and comfy. I stayed for dinner and the food was very good. Breakfast in the morning was no frills but really helpful with the pre ordering for getting off to work.

    The radiator was quite noisy

    10ColinPosted on: 10-15-2025

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

A plug near mirror for using hair dryer.

Good central location, friendly staff helped me restore power to the lights when they tripped out .

Stayed here a few times and rooms are normally great ,however room 6 had a noisy radiator which could only be shut down by turning it fully open .Id unpacked by the time the noise kicked in otherwise I would have reported it and requested a transfer. This meant a very hot room only eased by opening the window ,so not the best night's sleep. Saw on reviews that this was an issue a while back so needs looking at. As I said all other rooms in the hotel I've stayed in have always been great .
