The Corner House Hotel

I knew the room would be small, but it was clean and functional. We didn't eat there, but the bar was nice. Staff v friendly

The issue I had was the room was way too hot, and being so tiny I just could not get it cooled down, even with turning the radiator off. Also, the car park access is pretty difficult. We thought getting in was tough, the turn to get out was awful!

Utterly fantastic hotel! Breakfast and evening meals available. Really excellent friendly staff in all areas. Room was perfect, shower was nice and strong. Had a dial a taxi thing on the desk too, so getting one to the station on leaving was easy

Maybe send a map with the booking confirmation as I was confused as to where it was. Other than that, no problem

Lovely quirky hotel, clean and inviting. Interesting history to the place. Every member of staff was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb and I liked choosing the time we ate too.We stayed in a snug room which was perfect for us but f you need a bigger bed choose a bigger room.

Nothing to dislike. If you are up for a little unusual go to the Corner Hotel

The bed was very comfortable.

Disappointed there was no dinner service, but that was my poor planning for not noticing it was a Sunday, and the hours were posted on the site.

Good location, easy safe parking

Stayed at a super hot time of year Aug2025. There was a good portable fan in the room, however, having window open and fan on was still not enough to cool the room.

It was close to Musgrove hospital. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly.

Quite a few stairs but not a problem for us- might be an issue for older visitors.

Excellent customer service from all staff. The food was exceptionally good and would highly recommend!

Whilst we don’t mind that our room was small, the bed was too small for two adults and was incredibly soft and bouncy. The walls were also rather thin and we could hear the couple next door as well as other guests moving around the corridor. Needless to say we slept very little. We would however return, but would book a room with a kingsize bed next time.

For the money I expected a little more... to tiny room very dated and lots of things not working

Independent hotel, great staff (very helpful), good location. Very clean. Secure parking.Much better than chain hotels.

Too many stairs and corridors to get from reception to the room. Hotel was not full so I suppose we could have requested another room.

a bit outdated, replaced sockets for usb howver havent moved them to bed side which needs to be standard for all hotels in myopinions

The bed was comfortable, Breakfast was excellent. Staff were lovely. Ellie, especially, who checked us in on arrival and served us drinks in the evening. She would always talk to us at breakfast too.

Breakfast was exceptional. Superb service and a very generous and well cooked and presented 'full English'

The pillows. I would have preferred feather pillows. Their standard response for not at least offering a choice of feathers or artificial fibre does not stand up. The five star hotel in Cornwall where I stayed the next night offer both and do not subscribe to the oft repeated theory that there is fallout from the feathers that may trouble a future guest.

Lovely building with lots of history and character.Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant and bar facilities.Good location on the edge of the town centre, plus car parking.

Nothing really it ticked the boxes, for my brief stay.

It’s handy location with easy access to the centre meant it was no ist being on the main ringroad. The room was stifling hot with the tower rail scorching hot all night. Opening windows made it noisier, of course. The bed was very Close to the wall on one side.
