Cons -
- The whole pool and pool area was cold, jacuzzi was broken, the changing rooms are not baby friendly and there was an event on in the hotel so it meant we had to park down the bottom overflow carport on the muddy grass with a 5month old baby,
- Jacuzzi is out of service Slightly noisy late night and early morning
- Spa was disappointing, pool was small, shower was broken, jakuzzi broken, no cups for water fawcet and the lift to Spa was also broken so we had to walk through the bar area in robes towels etc .

Stayed in the annexe as we wanted a quiet room away from the busy hotel, as it was Christmas Party season. Lovely room, nicely furnished and we had a comfortable and peaceful night. The reception staff were just delightful, as were the staff in the restaurant at breakfast. So helpful and friendly.
Car parking was difficult, as it was jam-packed with parties. The hard-standing had marked spaces, but despite this, the front of the steps was blocked with cars, making it difficult to access. Parking in the grass overflow area was unsuitable for winter, as it was muddy and wet, and the area was poorly lit in the evening.
The public areas were spacious and festively decorated. Our room (executive) was spacious, as was the bathroom. There was plenty of parking. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean.
The room was tired in places- in particular, the faux fabric on the headboard was disintegrating and left dark flakes on the bed sheets. The standard of the breakfast didn’t live up to the quality of the building. Tinned tomatoes, cheap bready sausage, value fruit juice and toast that on both mornings was presented burnt side down (did the staff think we wouldn’t notice?!). A £1.50 per cup surcharge for any ‘specialty’ coffee (eg a cappuccino) above a standard pot (which was weak and tasteless) seemed very penny pinching. We had intended to dine at the restaurant one evening but our breakfast experience led us to eat elsewhere.
Friendly and attentive staff
Only one bedside table tricky though given the shape and layout of room 22
Good parking facilities
Paid 160 for one night - no AC, breakfast poor, staff lovely though, dated and old facilities - so expensive for what you get - gym needs serious updating
Large room. Comfortable. Staff were lovely.. clean
Twin bed. WiFi didn’t work.
The staff were great, and breakfast on the Monday morning was excellent. Room and bed were big and comfy.
The breakfast on the Sunday morning was a bit strange like a canteen as it was set up in a different room. The quality of the breakfast seemed to be slightly lower and pastries didnt seem fresh- on the Monday they were all amazing though. The hallways in the hotel seemed very dated and in need of a revamp.
Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, on reception, bar and in breakfast room.Excellent food at party buffet. Hot and cooked beautifully. Nice room. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Good parking.
Lift was having a nervous breakdown! Trembling, hesitant and indecisive! Hairs in bath...eek.Some parts of swimming pool area seem tired and rusty. Towels very small and not nice.
Very friendy welcoming staff and lovely decorated and smart hotel.Breakfast very good and lots of choicesVery relaxed areas to sit and chill
Pillows were dreadful which really let a 4* hotel down.Beds needed a topper as two singles pushed together with just a sheet meant your had a ridge in the beds.Very hot in rooms
Good location. Room was clean and modern. Hotel had a nice warm feeling about it.
Restaurant was way over priced for the food. It was pub food. Not restaurant food. Portions were small. Food wasn’t very good. We ate the first night. Second night we went else where
Very classy hotel staff very friendly and restaurant very good. Room amazing with a huge bathroom
All decent nothing we didn’t like
Easy to find; car parking provision, close to the room; friendly staff; modern facilites within the room in the cottage.; dining was really easy, comfortable, tasty.
Didnt like the need to carry my bag upstairs.

Breakfast not very good on the second morning as a coach load of people were in before us and staff were to busy cleaning up after them.
Breakfast on second day
The room/beds were very spacious. The bathroom was a lot bigger than expected. The staff that we interacted with were lovely and very helpful.
The room was very hot and there was no air conditioning. We tried opening the window but it had a safety lock on it so couldn’t open it very much. The gym was lot smaller than expected along with the pool which looked a little off in colour. There was water spot damages along the ceiling in our room and the room smelt musty. There was also water dripping from the walls in the spa.
Lovely staff- good sized room with two double beds- bedroom clean. Good food in the restaurant. Comfortable bed.
Restaurant looking a bit tired. The room was boiling hot as the towel rail in the bathroom was on all the time and you could not turn it off.
Booked double bed & room had 2 single beds pushed together, both different heights, with one mattress soft other bit better. Not ideal for a couple who were expecting a decent night sleep
Booked a double bed expecting a double bed with decent mattress not 2 singles of different heights & softness
