Pros +
- The staff were super friendly. The room itself was small but nicely decorated and had been thoroughly cleaned.
- Central, lovely clean room and great breakfast
- Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a problem with my suit jacket being creased as I was on my way to a wedding. The young lady who was by herself went out of her way to bring me an iron and ironing board. On our arrival on Friday at approximately 15.00 the lady who greeted us was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed.Overall an enjoyable stay with a decent breakfast to boot with plenty of choice.
Cons -
- We stayed at the front of the hotel and due to the single glazing you could hear all the noise from the taxi rank until 2am- not a peaceful night's sleep at all.
- The bar was average
- We stayed in number 25 which was okay but could have done with 2 bedside lamps. Also my sister in number 23 had netflix. I would think that this would be same throughout the other bedrooms.

Perfectly situated. The staff were very helpful and polite. The food was excellent.
Fantastic breakfast and the staff were lovely! Rooms were clean and tidy
The parking is down a very narrow ally which was a bit of a squeeze
Food was excellentRoom cleanCouldnt have cooked breakfast but not their fault, continental breakfast was good and varied.
We were in an odd shaped twin roomMy bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced .Shower door was broken
Food really good ,staff friendly, good location
Friendly receptionist who let me plug my e-bilke into the reception room overnight
It’s was a nice central location, the bed was comfy and the location had great facilities.
The staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable.
We were on the top floor and being an old building, the stairs steep and uneven in places. We also like a little fresh air in the room, but the window was sealed which was dissapointing.
The hotel is easy to find and has a great location. The staff is amazing and very helpful.
The hotel rooms facing the street have very thin windows so a warning for light sleepers. You can hear street noise.
The room was lovely and comfortable and clean. The breakfast was nice. The member of staff on reception was lovely. She was a young girl with long hair in a ponytail. She was so friendly and nice. Big shout out to her.
The breakfast was nice but could have done with some pastries/croissants or toast.
Friendly staffGood food- carvery served daily. Good choice for breakfastRoom very comfortable and clean.Parking at back of hotelCentre of town
Amount of steep stairs (33) to our room.No lift.
Great location friendly staff and room very comfortable
We were on the top floor with 3 flights of steep winding stairs not exactly ideal for my husband and I as we suffer with arthritis and osteoarthritis
Good value. Good location. Good breakfast
Lack of bed side light. Very slow breakfast service
The room was tidy and clean.
There is no soundproofing on either the walls or floors. My room was directly above the pub lounge and my stay was on the same evening as either a disco or band. The noise from the music was sufficiently Lound enough to physically rattle the cupboard next to my bed. Couple that with a crying baby from the room next door, I didn't get much rest on that particular evening.
Lovely room and breakfast with comfy bed, roomy bathroom and convenient central location with a handy restaurant and bar at hand.Bar staff kindly allowed us to store bags before and after check in with no fuss.
Although the staff were pleasant enough a d accommodated my food intolerances and storing our bags some staff often seemed inconvenienced by our presence with reasonable requests often being responded to with a huff, roll of eyes or sigh. One member of staff even responded to another guest with the sarcastic response to a normal request...?' I am only one person you know'.This was not all the staff but seemed contagious as this was more than just one member of staff. Whereas some other members of staff responded with no fuss.Maybe the hotel could be renamed The Huffington Inn, at least we would have known what to expect. I understand the hospitality industry can be a demanding and thankless task at times as I have worked in the hospitality industry myself. So I can understand that the job is relentless at times which must test anyone's patience and can mean staff get fed up with all the requests from guests. However it can make the job much better and our visits much more pleasant if we are all just a little kinder to one another. I understand this behavior may be because certain times of day were busy and otherwise a good stay. Thank you
Nice location and friendly staff
No lift, no fridge
Great stay yet again. Lovely staff. Fab room. Great breakfast. Thank you
