- Great place! Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Perfect food and drinks.Thank you for and amazing stay. The room and indoor spaces are lovely even though our room does need it's paintwork refreshed. Some peeling paint and woodwork. The high standard of the fittings and the quality of the food, drinks and room coffee, water and biscuits were a lovely surprise and very welcome. Breakfast and dinner were really great. The menus are very good.Amazingly curated rooms. Unique. An absolute pleasure. Our new local for excellent R & R. Can't wait to experience the beautiful outdoor space in warmer weather.
- We lved the room it was clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable we both slept the best we have for ages. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and I asked for oat milk for the room and was given it with no problem.
Cons -
- It has been allot better a few years ago.It was Cold in the restaurant. Radiators in the restaurant not on and only 3 degrees outside. First night a beautiful log fire stood cold and empty. Second evening log fire ablaze and staff sitting around it. When they left the fire was left to go out.Room was cold had to ask for an extra heater. Heating not working properly. En suite toilet seat hanging off. Room not cleaned when returned. Staff focussed more internally than externally with clients. Hotel only had two rooms full, this is the best situated hotel in Bedford it should be buzzing. I want to stay here more often but something has to change. Maintenance, staff, attention to being the best in Bedford and not complacent. I hope for better next time I stay
- More attention to dusting, esp lights behind the bed. A loose floorboard needs attention. Large patch of badly peeling paint near bath needs particular attention.
- The toilet door was not frosted enough and we felt uncomfortable with it

Wonderful small hotel.Very friendly and helpful staff.Cosy atmosphereHighly Recommend
Quirky and interesting. The room was cleverly designed and well equipped. Good quality washing and tea/coffee products and comfortable bedding.
Decor was a little tired and there was no full length mirror in the bedroom. Service was a little inconsistent - friendly and helpful on arrival and during lunch/dinner but not so good at breakfast. Similarly lunch/dinner menu was really nice but breakfast was patchy.
Extremely comfortable bed and huge rooms, restaurant and grounds are nice, bad points aside the main thing about staying in a hotel is getting a good sleep and that bed is the best bed I have ever slept in
I stayed at the very top and wooden floors where a nightmare the slightest movement and it was very loud, my room had a strange layout with bed angled across the room so many lights and switches on the top of the bed headrest it was overkill
Friendly staff, fantastic suite room and good quality pub restaurant food.
Lovely building with great facilities within easy walking distance of Bedford town centre
Beautiful accommodation in a convenient area. Excellent service and food.
The en-suite toilet not the most private
Comfy bed, spacious room. Nice staff
Really noisy from the bar downstairs till midnight.
Great character building with comfortable rooms. The bar and restaurant offer great choice and quality at competitive prices. Inclusive breakfast was outstanding. Offers a customer car park with no fee and high power charging for an EV. Only a short walk into town if you want to explore.
It was a little bit cold in the bedroom, but staff did find an electric heater which eventually took off the chill.
The rooms are all different. I have stayed here a few times now and would not stay anywhere else when i am in the area. The location was great for my work. The staff are always friendly and the beer is great. Vegan butty and coffee for breakfast was also very nice.
I liked everything however a slightly better vegan menu option for an evening meal would be great. Not a criticism just an observation.
Absolutely the best hotel in Bedford, excellent room, breakfast and spot on staff service. I will now stay nowhere else when staying in Bedford. (And Ive been there several times!).Thank you!
Wish Id found this place sooner!
Rooms are great staff are great food is good and always willing to accommodate
Great place just don’t have a room on the first floor because all you can hear is the hand dryer’s from the gents toilet, and everyone having a pee when they open the door
Good comfortable clean room. Very friendly staff.
Bad
Complete shambles. Was booked for my mum to stay two nights. Checked, heating in the room was not working. Offered a second room, that heating was not working either. Offered a portable heater, that did not work. Not once did staff on duty that night come up to the room(s) with me to check the temps or the radiators. I even asked for a rad key to bleed the rads!! I was up and down the stairs like a yo-yo without any assistance from staff. Ended up checking my mum back out, getting a refund and off to another hotel at 10:30 at night. Sh*t show!
Location convenient very hood food comfy bed
Heating was very hot tried to turn down drainage issues in bathroom
Location and decor
Good morning, We have just checked out of our New Years Eve stay at D’Parys and there was no management to discuss our stay with on departure so I have some feedback we would like to leave…Having been to DParys for many years including my graduation meal I really love coming to visit for dinners and staying overnight, but this stay was extremely disappointing and I’m now unsure I will return. When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes until anyone came over to us for check in, we had guessed that they were understaffed but no one mentioned to us. Atleast 10 items were missing from the dinner menu which we were only advised of when we were sat at our table even though I asked about dinner at check in. We ordered our drinks and both drinks were unavailable so we had to reorder. A lot of complaints flying around the restaurant which just gave a negative atmosphere. We also knew from social media posts that we would be receiving a scratch card with certain discounts for a meal in January, as we prebooked within certain dates and this was also not given to us at dinner. Bar area was so cold that we could only stay for one post dinner drink. Went up to our room and it was really cold, took ages for the room to get warm even with the additional heater in the room. The next morning we came down for breakfast at 8:30am and was then told that there was no breakfast today as the chef wasn’t due in until 11:30am. We were again not informed of different hours at check in.Came down to check out and was then informed that the breakfast will be available from 10am but we were already packed up by that point and wanted to leave as we felt there was just one problem after another. After travelling over an hour to come back to one of our favourite places, we have left unsure that we will return again. Very disappointed.
Lovely comfortable bed. Good dark room. Strong heating. Parking on site and pretty decoration of the pub.
No soundproofing at all. Hearing the next room communicate felt like each of their breathes were on our headboard. People in the bar laughing echoed into the room. The comical glass door toilet hiding no one’s dignity and positioned directly in front of the bed like it is a feature show. The light switches for the loo were all by the one side of the bed too so it was weird to surprise my husband getting my face next to him in the dark fiddling for switches to ensure he didn’t miss the show. There was also a long wait to check in, as only one person was working the bar and the reception. “Be with you in a second” whilst standing in the middle of a pub with luggage desperate to relax from the long drive. The notice board at check in saying no food available unless prebooked, which we hadn’t so had to go out to eat unexpectedly.
Quirky and very comfortable. Great location and bar/restaurant has a nice vibe. Friendly staff.
