About

This picturesque riverside hotel is a 5-minute walk from Worcester city center, and a 2-minute walk from the Cathedral and Royal Worcester Porcelain Museum. Free Wi-Fi is available in most areas, with free parking for guests. While we are Pet Friendly, we currently only have one room allocated for pets. This is a Superior Double room type. Please contact the Hotel prior to booking, to check if our dog friendly room is available for your stay. Landscape artist John Constable was a frequent visitor to Diglis House, and found inspiration from the beautiful terraced gardens overlooking the river. In recent times, the Georgian property has proved a popular choice for leisure and business visitors to the Worcester area. Diglis House has been lavishly refurbished to become one of the finest hotels in the Severn Valley. The delightful location is second to none, within easy walking distance of the city center with its many attractions.

    Pros +

    • Beautiful old property. Spacious and clean.
    • Great views of the River! Beds were Very comfortable. We had plenty of space for our party of 7 between 2 rooms. Breakfast was amazing!
    • Excellent location and easy to park the car, breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice and excellent gluten free options.

    Cons -

    • The hotel was great, perfect location. The bed was very comfortable. I absolutely loved hearing the cathedral bells on Sunday morning.Only slight niggle, if I’m being really picky, is that that I chose avocado on toast for breakfast and the toast wasn’t good, just 1 slice of standard supermarket brown. Should be better quality, maybe sourdough? We had a great stay, loved the hotel and would definitely stay again.
    • Sometimes the toilet button would stick.
    • Nothing!!!

As always, the location and the available parking are good. the food was also to a good standard.

Even allowing for the refurbishment causing the staff some stress, the overall experience was not what I have been used to at Diglis. I was particularly disappointed that the room was so noisy - the sound of voices in the road outside (I imagine double glazing isn't allowed by planners?), the noise of some aircon or heating from building opposite at an early hour, and the creak of floorboards in the corridor and the fire-door swinging shut as residents passed by late at night and early in the morning.

A lovely building, breakfasts were so good. Staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

My room didn't have a comfy chair to sit on. It meant me using the bed as a seat from which to read and write

    10ChristopherPosted on: 2-18-2026

Staff were very helpful, letting us check in early. Room was spacious and comfortable, better than the pictures on the website. The breakfast selection was impressive both for continental and cooked.

The location by the river and close proximity to the cathedral, where we were singing this weekend. The extremely friendly and helpful staff. The afternoon tea and breakfasts. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Free car parking.

Room was small but neat and had everything we needed, including tea and coffee with 'proper' milk. Bathroom clean and good standard. Shower worked well. Room was warm with the ability to adjust the radiator at night, a rare bonus!Staff were all friendly and helpful.Breakfast had an excellent range of cereal, fruit compotes, pastries and fresh yoghurt and fruit juices, with a good 'full english' breakfast too.Bed was comfortable with good pillows and qualilty bed linen.

If you wanted to watch TV, you either had to sit on the side of the bed facing it , very close, or, if you sat on the bed fully, it was very much on your left hand side. It didn't affect us much, as we were only there one night, but if anyone was in the room for any length of time, or wanted the TV to relax in the evening, it might be an issue.Parking, also stressful!

Great location with parking at a good price

The only thing that let our stay down was an electric shower over the bath.

    10KatherinePosted on: 2-15-2026

All the staff were really lovely and helpful. The room was very clean and nice and warm, and the bed was really comfortable. The location by the river (although the river has flooded at present). Free car parking. Lots of choice for breakfast and the poached eggs cooked to perfection,

There wasn't anything we didn't like,

    Lovely cosy hotel.Clean and friendly

The TV was very old and didn’t work properly

    8ClivePosted on: 2-9-2026

The hotel overlooks the river and is a short walk to the centre of town. The rooms are very comfortable with all the ameneties you would expect. The breakfasts were excellent. Very good value for money

Like many, older hotels in the UK there are no lifts, which means lugging your suitacase up a couple of flights of stairs. This is the cost of old world charm.

    8NickPosted on: 2-8-2026

Very quaint and charming Victorian building , not pretending to be anything it isn’t. Fantastic location in the 2026 floods, high enough to be safely above the river and reachable.

    Nothing to complain about.
