    Pros +

    • The main house was lovely, well decorated and had period charm. We were housed in a newer wing which with a large room and modern bathroom. The breakfast was outstanding served on crisp linen. We ate several times in the dining room and were impressed
    • nice breakfast selection, staff were great/
    • Great position, although looking a bit dated very comfortable room . Good size and separate bath and shower.

    Cons -

    • It was not air conditioned. The hotel caters weddings and on this occasion the wedding guests were somewhat noisy late at night.
    • my bedding, pillow and bedsheet were dirty, asked to get it changed, only the pillow and bedsheet got changed, at 22:30 had to go back and ask again for the duvet to be changed, only had a single duvet to replace for that night.
    • Nothing of importance.

It's an attractive building in easy reach of M6. All the staff were really nice & helpful. The Twine restaurant served 1st class food & breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious & bright with a large bed with a lovely double aspect view.

The bedroom was very "tired" & had drafty windows which are in need of repair as at March 2025. The only a disappointment to our exceptional meal in the Twine restaurant was due a very long delay for our dessert & our waiter tried really hard to sort it out for us but it appeared a private function caused the delay.

The restaurant food was unbelievably good. Really top level. Can't recommend it highly enough. The downstairs areas - reception, bar, restaurant and the private conference/dining spaces are really nicely updated and lovely to spend time in. The little bar is cool and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. The volunteered cocktail recommendation was a great one! good music system/speaker in the bedroom

My room (Room 2, Penny Farthing) was actually very nice - would have been cold at this time of year but the additional heater supplied dealt with. Furnishings were nice and the bed comfortable, and it is not old and tired, but maybe seems a bit outdated in comparison to the beautifully refurbished downstairs. That said there is loads of space in the room and a comfy sofa could easily be fitted in which and some additional lamps in the lounge area would be useful - bedside lamps not enough to reach over there and don't always want the bright ceiling lighting. Also I can't remember there being any wardrobe in the room although I was only there one night and may be misremembering. For the space available in room and bathroom I am sure that, when the time comes, some great additions could be made to make full use of the size.

    Big, comfy bed.Decent bathroom.

Nice enough.Clean, and good condition but a little dated.Weird noise through the night. Sounded like a boiler or generator.Bathroom had a slight drain smell. Not awful, but definitely there.

    Comfortable bed, clean room, fridge

I was attending a meeting at the NEC and this came up as an option for local accommodation, although i checked, 25 minute commute, I hadn’t realised that it was all motorway driving and actually took me an hour to get to my destination due to traffic volume so was not close at all.

    Location perfect

Pay £200 for a room in an ok hotel I expect breakfast included. It wasn’t wow. Shower tray didn’t drain fully and bathroom was cold. One radiator in the room wasn’t functioning.

Very comfortable stay. Staff were lovely. Food was lovely too. Very happy.

Bar menu was a little pricey.

The place was easy to find, easy to park and everyone was very friendly. The room was very spacious with beautiful furniture and plenty of space for pram, baby stuff, and personal items, movement and the stay overall. The kettle was exceptionally clean (this is very rare, hence I'm highlighting this) We had food at the bar as the restaurant's hours didn't work for us. Still, it was lush food and beautifully served. We apprciated the lift facilities too. The happy chickens walking around were a sweet addition to the experience.

Unfortunately, the glass shower door did not hold the water and the shower head had a slight leak so the water after showering was all over the bathroom floor. The baby cot had a very low bottom so when lying the baby down; it was hard to bend over to reach the bottom. Or when picking the baby up was hard to reach down for them and lift up.

Food was fantastic very well presented and the staff were fantastic.

I only had 1 night stay would prefer a longer stay

Lovely property & grounds. Large room. Good breakfast. Some (not all) staff very friendly.

Draught beer would have been nice. Poo bags in the dog package would have been appreciated. Poo bins on site essential.

Looks lovely since being done up

Breakfast was terrible.. the food when it arrived was tasty but very small portions. But the service was dire.. we didn’t receive any drinks or toast/pastry basket until after we had eaten despite asking 4 times.. 3 different people and our order for these were taken at the time we sat.. we also spoke to someone from the hotel prior to staying and we were promised a big table for breakfast as we had 13 in our party, there was no knowledge of this request as we arrived for breakfast. This was such a shame as reception and bar staff on the previous evening were very helpful and attentive.

Everything was clean, food was great and things were well organized overall. Room was large and quiet, service was overall nice. Things looked as promised and the people were very kind.

The room was terribly cold, being inside was possible only under a blanket. Check-in to hotel was very manual and took ages, which doesn't have any excuse in modern digital age. These two things disappointed me.

The room was fabulous, clean, perfect location and quiet.
