    Pros +

    • Bed, bathroom size, restaurant. All of these were great.
    • Everything was perfect. We had dinner and breakfast both were fantastic. Beds were comfortable. The staff are unbelievable. I have not found a better place to stay after a month away from home. Thank you very much to all the staff
    • A lovely hotel, the owners clearly look after such a lovely building and have a great team looking after it. A big car park and warm and efficient welcome. Our 2 booked rooms were ready earlier than check in time, with little fuss and both rooms had touches of warmth and elegance. The beds were super comfortable, the bedrooms clean and bathrooms v well equipped with lovely soaps and washes. All of the staff were friendly and efficient and for a town centre hotel, this is highly recommended.

    Cons -

    • Ludicrous amount of cushions on the bed. Water temperature in the shower could have been warmer.
    • Breakfast is a little expensive, and I cannot comment on bar or restaurant quality as we chose to wander round the town - but of the food and drinks match the accommodation for quality, it is probably worth it
    • Nothing to dislike.

We enjoyed our one night at the Wynnstay hotel, immensely. The hotel is ideally situated. Very comfortable and well managed. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home.

The staff was amazing. The restaurant was delicious. It had a great bar to hang out in at night. It’s in a central location and parking was very easy.

Comfortable and warm, with a really lovely bar and restaurant. We enjoyed our breakfast and the staff were excellent.

Only a minor point in an otherwise good stay. We had a twin room and as friends probably wouldn’t have chosen to sleep right next to each other as the two single beds were set together. We could’ve moved them slightly but it wasn’t easy to do. Also very squeaky floorboards on the stairs and outside rooms, but you’d expect that in an older building.

Great location and excellent parking facilities. Breakfast was very good with lots of options.

Stairs quite steep with no lift. Shower wasn't very powerful. TV needed aerial tweeking to work properly.

Staff were lovely, room was spacious, breakfst was delicious!

Staff, esp in bar and dining room. Restaurant good menu and food well cooked. Restaurant good value.

Heating eccentric, room not warm without heater, water not very hot, room a little cramped.

The Room was very comfortable. I was there for a work event. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent for the evening and the morning after for breakfast.

Due to the age of the property, it was not very sound-proof from the corridor. I could hear the washing machine whirring and people chattering up and down the corridors.

    8OwainPosted on: 1-7-2026

Very friendly and helpful staff, both hotel and restaurant. The room was very clean and tidy. good selection of teas and coffee in the rooms. Evenning meal and Breakfast was lovely, just wish the breakfast came with hashbrowns on the menu.

    1) Our drinks etc. cocktail and soft drinks from the restaurant came after our starter rather just before our starter. 2) the mattress on our bed was a bit too hard but it was a matter of preference as we are use to soft beds

    Nicely decorated and cosy

Had a weird smell in the room, and the room was very small

    7NicolaPosted on: 12-28-2025

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere in bar areas. Excellent parking

We paid for a superior room but the television didn't work and there were bad stains on the carpet in the room. Normally we wouldn't mind this but we had paid extra for a better room. We have stayed here before but found everything to be excellent on that occasion so we were disappointed that this happened. We mentioned it when we checked out and were told that it would be mentioned it to the appropriate department.

Big rooms with lots of teas coffee soaps and bottled water in room

    10NicolaPosted on: 12-24-2025

Very comfortable hotel. My room was excellent and I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Will be staying again very soon!

    Nothing, it’s great!

Great restaurant and bar with lovely staff.

Kitchen fans right outside our room which ran from early morning to late evening (10pm).

    8DawnPosted on: 12-17-2025

The suite was exceptionally clean with a modern bathroom with shampoos etc provided.. We had a bedroom, lounge, dressing area as well (room 206). Water was provided as well as tea coffee etc. we also had robes and slippers. Bed was very comfortable, slept very well. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, Christmas menu, the turkey roast was delicious. Hotel is located in town, plenty of parking for the hotel, need exit code each day. We ate breakfast out as like to spend some money in community. Plenty of places to eat locally. We visited the British Ironworks , a ten minute drive away, this was awesome, lots of metal sculptures, sci-fi ones too. Overall a lovely stay and we would come again.

The room was a little cold during the daytime but two additional electric plug in heaters were already provided in the rooms. Being a georgian building, it had lots of stairs up to the room. We are fit so not an issue for us.
